Character Perspectives: Andrew Hayado
Part 1: The Occult Research Club
Rias Gremory
He's an enigma.
Rias sat in her office, reviewing reports, but her mind kept drifting to Andrew. When he'd first appeared at Kuoh Academy, she'd assumed he was just Issei's older brother—a human with perhaps slightly above-average potential. Then she'd watched him spar with Issei, and that assumption shattered.
That speed. That technique. That presence.
She'd tried to recruit him multiple times, subtly at first. Offering him a piece in her peerage was standard procedure for someone with his potential. But every time, he politely declined. Not out of arrogance or disinterest—he simply had his own path.
"My pride wouldn't let me take a shortcut for power I didn't earn myself."
Those words stuck with her. Andrew earned everything through discipline and training. No Sacred Gear. No devil bloodline. Just raw determination.
When he defeated Riser without transforming—holding back his true power to avoid unnecessary destruction—she'd felt something shift. Respect. Admiration. And perhaps… something more.
He's strong enough to stand on his own. He doesn't need me, doesn't need the Underworld's resources. But he chooses to help anyway. That's what makes him dangerous. And valuable.
She smiled slightly. And frustratingly out of reach.
Akeno Himejima
Interesting.
Akeno watched Andrew from across the clubroom, her expression thoughtful. She'd spent years learning to read people—their desires, their fears, their weaknesses. It was a survival skill, honed through pain and experience.
Andrew was difficult to read.
He's kind, but not soft. Strong, but not arrogant. Confident, but not reckless.
She'd seen him interact with Issei—the brotherly bond, the genuine care. She'd watched him train with a focus that bordered on obsessive. She'd observed him help Kiba through his trauma without judgment.
He's been through something. Something that shaped him.
The way he fought reminded her of warriors who'd seen real battle—not Rating Games or school yard scuffles, but life-and-death struggles. There was an efficiency to his movements, a calmness under pressure that only came from experience.
And that transformation…
When he'd gone Super Saiyan against Vali, the power had been breathtaking. Golden hair, blazing aura, eyes that held ancient fire. It was beautiful and terrifying in equal measure.
He's holding back even more than we realize. And yet, he stays. Protects us. Why?
She smiled to herself. Perhaps I'll find out eventually. He's worth getting to know better.
Koneko Toujou
Strong.
Koneko didn't use many words, even in her thoughts. But Andrew earned her respect immediately.
Doesn't smell like devil. Doesn't smell like human either. Different.
She'd been suspicious at first—new people always made her wary. But watching him spar with Issei, seeing how he pushed his brother without breaking him, changed her perspective.
He cares. Really cares.
When he'd talked to Kiba on the rooftop after the exorcists left, she'd listened from below. His words were simple but genuine. No false comfort, no empty platitudes. Just honesty.
"Don't let your past control your future."
She understood that sentiment better than most.
He's dealt with loss. Pain. But he didn't let it break him.
During training sessions, she'd occasionally spar with him. He never underestimated her despite her size, never held back enough to insult her. He treated her like an equal.
Respects strength. Doesn't care about appearance or status. Good person.
She'd never admit it out loud, but she felt safer with Andrew around. Like having another older sibling who actually gave a damn.
If he keeps training Issei, maybe the pervert will actually be useful.
Yuuto Kiba
He understands.
Kiba had met plenty of strong people in his life. Rias, the other pureblood devils, even some of the exorcists he'd encountered. But Andrew was different.
He's been broken and put himself back together.
That conversation on the rooftop had meant more than Andrew probably realized. Most people, when they learned about the Holy Sword Project, either pitied him or told him to move on. Andrew did neither.
"Use it. Channel that anger into something productive."
He didn't dismiss Kiba's pain. He acknowledged it, validated it, and then showed him a path forward. That took wisdom—the kind that only came from personal experience.
He's lost people too. I can see it in his eyes sometimes.
When Andrew talked about protecting others, there was weight behind those words. A conviction born from failure and rebuilt through determination.
He's stronger than me. Maybe stronger than anyone in the ORC. But he doesn't lord it over us. He just… exists. Helps when needed. Trains when he can.
Kiba admired that. The quiet strength. The refusal to compromise his principles even when offered shortcuts.
If I ever reach Balance Breaker level with my sword… I want to spar with him. Really test myself against someone who's mastered their craft.
Issei Hyoudou
My brother. My rival. My inspiration.
Issei stared at the four-star Dragon Ball on his desk, its red stars gleaming in the lamplight.
He really found one. He actually did it.
Growing up, Andrew had been the one constant in his life. The friend who never judged him for being a pervert, who trained with him even when they were kids, who shared dreams of martial arts and legendary warriors.
Then Andrew left, and Issei felt… lost. He'd tried to keep training, but without his brother pushing him, he'd slacked off. Gotten comfortable.
Then I died. Became a devil. Nearly lost Asia. And realized I was weak.
When Andrew returned, Issei had felt a mixture of relief and inadequacy. His brother had grown so much stronger—achieving things Issei had only dreamed about.
Super Saiyan. He actually transformed. The legend we used to talk about as kids… he made it real.
But instead of feeling resentful, Issei felt motivated. Inspired. Because Andrew didn't just get strong and leave everyone behind. He came back. He stayed. He helped.
He gave me this Dragon Ball. Not because he needed to, but because he wanted to. Because he believes in me.
Issei clenched his fist, feeling Ddraig's presence stir within the Boosted Gear.
Ddraig: Your brother is exceptional, partner. Even among Saiyans, his discipline is rare.
Issei: (thinking) I know. That's why I can't fall behind. I need to reach Balance Breaker. Need to stand beside him, not behind him.
He looked at the Dragon Ball again.
One day, I'll be strong enough that he doesn't have to hold back. Strong enough that we can really go all out together. That's my goal.
Part 2: Kuoh Academy & The Town
Students
Random Student 1: "That's Hayado, right? Issei's brother?"
Random Student 2: "Yeah. He transferred in a few months ago. First-year."
Random Student 3: "He's… intense. Like, he's always polite and stuff, but there's something about him that makes you not want to mess with him."
Random Student 2: "I heard he travels a lot. Like, disappears on weekends and comes back looking exhausted."
Random Student 1: "Maybe he's got a part-time job or something?"
Random Student 3: "Whatever it is, the girls in his class are obsessed. Quiet, mysterious, strong… classic ikemen type."
Teachers
Homeroom Teacher (thinking): Andrew Hayado… top marks in physical education, decent grades in academics despite missing material from transferring late. Quiet, respectful, never causes trouble.
But there's something about him. The way he carries himself. Like he's seen more of the world than most adults.
I've been teaching for twenty years. I can usually tell when a student is hiding something. Andrew's not hiding anything malicious—just… more experienced than he should be at sixteen.
Whatever his story is, I hope it doesn't cause problems. He seems like a good kid.
Sona Sitri (Student Council President)
A wildcard.
Sona adjusted her glasses, reviewing her notes on the recent supernatural activity in Kuoh. Andrew Hayado's name appeared multiple times.
He's connected to Rias's peerage but isn't a devil. Human, supposedly. But my sensors detected a power spike near the ORC building last month that was… significant.
She'd observed him from a distance. Polite, keeps to himself, doesn't participate in typical high school drama. On the surface, unremarkable.
But Rias wouldn't keep someone unremarkable close. And that fight with Riser…
Her informants in the Underworld had reported something unusual. A human defeating a Phenex in single combat. No Sacred Gear. No devil magic. Just raw martial prowess and some kind of transformation.
He's either incredibly dangerous or incredibly valuable. Possibly both.
She made a mental note to approach him eventually. Not as an enemy—antagonizing someone that strong would be foolish—but as an ally.
Kuoh is about to become a battleground. Having someone like him on our side could tip the scales.
Part 3: Other Factions - Reputation from Travels
Fallen Angels (Azazel's Perspective)
Azazel leaned back in his chair, reviewing intelligence reports. One name kept appearing: Andrew Hayado.
Interesting.
The report detailed encounters across various territories:
• Year 1 (Age 11-12): Stopped a rogue Fallen Angel from massacring a human village in Eastern Europe. Fought despite being massively outclassed. Survived through tactics and determination.
• Year 2 (Age 12-13): Interfered with a Stray Devil rampage in South America. Subdued the devil non-lethally and delivered them to local authorities.
• Year 3 (Age 13-14): Encountered multiple times during his "space training" phase. Last confirmed sighting: fighting a tyrant-class entity on a remote planet. Achieved Super Saiyan transformation.
A Saiyan. On Earth. In this timeline.
Azazel stroked his beard thoughtfully. And now he's in Kuoh, connected to the Gremory heiress. Coincidence? Unlikely.
Azazel: (to himself) "Vali's going to want another match with him. This could get interesting."
Angels (Michael's Perspective)
Michael, leader of the Angels, reviewed reports with concern.
A warrior who helps without asking for reward. Who protects the innocent regardless of faction. Who shows mercy even to enemies.
Michael: "He embodies virtues we claim to represent. Yet he's not one of ours. Not even Christian."
Assistant Angel: "Should we approach him, Lord Michael?"
Michael: "Not yet. But keep watch. If the Fallen or Devils try to recruit him forcibly… we may need to intervene."
A soul that pure, that disciplined… it would be a shame to see it corrupted.
Stray Devils (Survivor's Account)
A captured Stray Devil was being interrogated by Grayfia.
Grayfia: "You encountered this 'Andrew Hayado' two years ago. Describe him."
Stray Devil: (trembling) "He… he didn't kill me. I was rampaging, had already killed three humans. He appeared out of nowhere—just a kid, maybe thirteen—and beat me down like I was nothing."
Grayfia: "And then?"
Stray Devil: "He could have killed me. Should have killed me. Instead, he knocked me out and left me for the authorities. Said something about… 'second chances' and 'choosing better.'"
Grayfia: (intrigued) "Mercy toward a Stray Devil. Unusual."
Stray Devil: "That's what I thought. But he meant it. I've been trying to reform since then. That's why I surrendered when your people found me."
Grayfia filed that information away. Strength tempered by compassion. Sirzechs will want to hear about this.
Part 4: Time Patrol - Bonds and Training
Future Gohan - The Primary Mentor
Andrew stood in the Time Nest's training dimension, breathing hard. Future Gohan watched from nearby, his single arm crossed over his chest.
Future Gohan: "Again."
Andrew: (pushing himself up) "You know, most teachers give their students breaks."
Future Gohan: (small smile) "Most students don't have your potential. Or your discipline."
They'd been training together for three years now—ever since Chronoa introduced them. At first, Andrew had been starstruck. Future Gohan had been his favorite character growing up in his past life. The lone warrior who'd fought against impossible odds, who'd trained Trunks, who'd died protecting others.
And now I'm learning from him.
Andrew: "Why do you push me so hard?"
Future Gohan: "Because I see myself in you. The determination. The refusal to give up." He paused. "But you have something I lost—people to fight for who are still alive. I don't want you to waste that."
Andrew understood. In Future Gohan's timeline, everyone was gone. He'd fought alone until the end. That loneliness, that weight… it had shaped him into a warrior who understood the cost of failure.
Future Gohan: "You're close to Super Saiyan 2. I can feel it. But you're hesitating. Why?"
Andrew: "I'm not sure I'm ready."
Future Gohan: "No one's ever ready. You just have to trust yourself." He stepped forward, placing his hand on Andrew's shoulder. "I believe in you. The same way I believed in Trunks."
Those words meant everything.
Andrew: "Thank you, Gohan-sensei."
Future Gohan: "Now get up. We're going again."
Xeno Goku - The Power Teacher
Xeno Goku: "Ya know what your problem is, Andrew?"
Andrew dodged another punch, countering with a kick that Xeno Goku blocked effortlessly.
Andrew: "Enlighten me."
Xeno Goku: "You think too much! Combat isn't about planning every move. It's about feeling—reacting without thinking."
They'd trained together dozens of times. Xeno Goku's approach was completely different from Future Gohan's. Where Gohan emphasized technique and strategy, Goku focused on instinct and adaptability.
Xeno Goku: "Gohan's teaching you the 'how.' I'm teaching you the 'why.'" He grinned. "You gotta find what makes you burn, kid. What makes you wanna push past your limits just for the fun of it!"
Andrew: "Fun? You call getting beaten up fun?"
Xeno Goku: (laughing) "Absolutely! Getting stronger, testing yourself against tough opponents—that's what it's all about!"
His enthusiasm was infectious. Andrew found himself smiling despite the exhaustion.
Andrew: "You're insane."
Xeno Goku: "Maybe! But I'm also right. Loosen up a bit. Enjoy the fight. You'll break through to SSJ2 faster that way."
Xeno Vegeta - The Pride Teacher
Xeno Vegeta: "Pathetic."
Andrew picked himself up from the ground, glaring at Vegeta.
Andrew: "Easy for you to say."
Xeno Vegeta: "You have the power. You have the technique. What you lack is the will to surpass." He crossed his arms. "You're holding yourself back with unnecessary restraint."
Andrew: "I don't want to lose control—"
Xeno Vegeta: "Control is earned through experience, not caution! You think Kakarot became as strong as he is by playing it safe? You think I achieved Ultra Ego by holding back my instincts?"
Andrew was silent.
Xeno Vegeta: "You're a Saiyan. Act like it. Pride in your strength. Pride in your heritage. Use that fire to push beyond your limits."
Despite Vegeta's harshness, Andrew knew the prince meant well. In his own way, Vegeta was trying to unlock Andrew's potential.
Andrew: "I'll try."
Xeno Vegeta: "Don't try. Do." He smirked. "And when you finally achieve Super Saiyan 2… I expect a real challenge. Understood?"
Andrew: (grinning) "Understood."
Trunks (Xeno) - The Partner
Trunks and Andrew stood back-to-back, surrounded by temporal anomalies—twisted creatures spawned from timeline distortions.
Trunks: "Just like training, right?"
Andrew: "Except these things actually want to kill us."
Trunks: (smirking) "Details."
They'd been partnered on missions countless times. Trunks was efficient, reliable, and easy to work with. More importantly, he understood what it meant to fight for something bigger than yourself.
Trunks: "You ready?"
Andrew: "Always."
They moved in perfect sync—Trunks going high with his sword, Andrew sweeping low with martial strikes. The creatures fell quickly, unable to adapt to their coordinated assault.
When the dust settled, Trunks clapped Andrew on the shoulder.
Trunks: "Good work. You're getting faster."
Andrew: "Learned from the best."
Trunks: "Gohan?"
Andrew: "And you. You've taught me a lot about teamwork. About trusting your partner."
Trunks looked genuinely touched. "Thanks. That… means a lot."
They'd developed a bond that went beyond just being coworkers. They were friends. Brothers-in-arms. People who trusted each other with their lives.
Trunks: "Next time Chronoa pairs us up, we should grab food after. There's this place in Conton City that makes amazing ramen."
Andrew: "You're on."
Chronoa - The Supreme Kai of Time (Expanded)
Chronoa sat in her office, reviewing timeline reports, but her mind kept wandering.
He's changed so much since we first met.
She remembered the twelve-year-old boy who'd thrown himself between her and Mira without hesitation. Reckless, brave, and far too young to be fighting someone like that.
But he did it anyway. Saved my life.
Over the years, she'd watched him grow. Not just in power, but in character. He'd trained under Future Gohan, learned from Xeno Goku and Vegeta, completed dozens of missions for the Time Patrol.
And through it all, he stayed kind. Stayed grounded.
That was what set him apart. Most warriors who gained power became arrogant or ruthless. Andrew became more disciplined. More compassionate.
He's special. And not just because of his strength.
She thought about their reunion—the way he'd hugged her without hesitation, the way his eyes had softened when he looked at her.
Does he… feel the same way I do?
She blushed, shaking her head. Focus, Chronoa. You're the Supreme Kai of Time. You can't afford distractions.
But even as she tried to concentrate on her work, her thoughts drifted back to Andrew.
When this is all over… maybe I'll tell him how I feel.
Elder Kai's Observation
Elder Kai: "You're staring at the timeline monitor again."
Chronoa: (startled) "I'm working!"
Elder Kai: "You're watching Andrew's timeline. Again."
Chronoa: "I need to make sure Towa and Mira don't interfere—"
Elder Kai: "Uh-huh. Sure. That's the only reason."
Chronoa's face turned red. "Shut up."
Elder Kai: (chuckling) "You've got it bad, Supreme Kai. Might as well admit it."
Chronoa: "I don't have time for this conversation."
Elder Kai: "Just saying—he's a good kid. If you're gonna fall for someone, could do a lot worse than a disciplined Saiyan warrior who respects authority and fights for what's right."
Chronoa said nothing, but the small smile on her face said everything.
