Chapter 600 - Chapter 600: Childhood Dream

"Adjustments?" Matthew didn't understand what Amanda meant. "What kind of adjustments?"

From his perspective, both charity foundations were running well. Every year, they received substantial donations from him. Although these donations were mainly for tax avoidance, they did genuinely help many people.

The funds raised were also significant due to his fame and influence, aiding many who were in urgent need.

Every six months, the refugee foundation sent large batches of supplies to Africa. Every month, the children's foundation selected suitable targets for aid.

Although the two charity foundations were not purely altruistic from the day they were established and couldn't compare to those genuinely devoted to charity, they were indeed doing good deeds, with regular significant charitable expenditures. Compared to most of the celebrity charity foundations in the industry, they were far more effective.

Of course, he also benefited greatly from this, and he never denied it.

Amanda said seriously, "The social landscape is changing rapidly, especially with the women's rights movement."

Matthew nodded lightly. The women's rights movement could be described as skyrocketing.

"There are some things you might not want to hear, but as a friend, I have to remind you," Amanda looked at Matthew and said, "With the speed at which you change girlfriends, you might encounter trouble in the future. Not everyone is like Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johansson. What if someone doesn't achieve their goal and stands up to accuse you? It doesn't matter now, but if the women's rights movement becomes as politically correct as the issue of racism, it could cause a lot of trouble."

Matthew smiled, "I've never forced anyone."

"That's why..." Amanda shrugged slightly, "You haven't encountered any trouble in this area yet."

Matthew thought seriously for a moment. If it ever becomes like the issue of racism, where saying anything negative about black people becomes discrimination, then indeed...

There might be a possibility of it not being so sensitive.

He vaguely remembered that until the day trouble struck, Leonardo DiCaprio was still changing girlfriends one after another in the tabloids, and it seemed that no one had directly attacked him on this front.

Presumably, Leonardo and he were similar, both engaging with women on a mutually beneficial basis.

However, Amanda's words reminded him that all pursuits should be based on mutual consent. Never resort to coercion or other underhanded tactics, as the women in this circle were not fools.

As for harassment or coercion in private, he had never done it and never would.

Those were things that ugly creatures like Harvey Weinstein would do. Someone with his appearance, charisma, and good looks had no need for that.

Most importantly, those women could get what they wanted from him.

However, Matthew didn't ignore Amanda's words and asked, "What do you mean?"

Amanda had already thought it through and said directly, "Change the Children's Foundation to the Women and Children's Foundation, adding women and protecting women's rights to the foundation's objectives."

"Hmm..." Matthew thought for a while and said, "Alright."

He looked at Amanda, "You handle this. Work with Helen to make a plan."

This would be beneficial for both the foundation and himself. While the likelihood of encountering the situation Amanda mentioned was low given his style, it couldn't be entirely ruled out.

The day after discussing with Amanda, Matthew flew to Geneva, Switzerland.

Geneva is the second-largest city in Switzerland, known for being home to numerous international organizations, including the European headquarters of the United Nations, the United Nations Environment Programme, the World Health Organization, the International Labour Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, among others.

Upon arrival in Geneva, Matthew was received by UNHCR personnel and stayed in a hotel near the Palais des Nations. The entire hotel was booked by the United Nations for the conference participants, so he didn't have to worry about meals or accommodation. After adjusting to the time difference, he toured Geneva and then returned to the hotel restaurant for dinner, where he spotted a familiar face.

A girl with long brown hair sat alone at a table, eating a plain vegetable salad. With every bite, she frowned as if she were enduring great torture rather than enjoying her meal.

The girl looked about sixteen or seventeen, and every frown made her nose wrinkle, highlighting the freckles under her eyes and giving her the appearance of a friendly, harmless neighbor girl.

However, the sharp, paper-cutting lines of her lips suggested she was shrewd.

Matthew, carrying his tray, walked towards her, occasionally glancing at her face. Her facial features were sharp: brow ends, eye corners, nose tip, and mouth corners were all pointed.

Having dealt with people in the fashion industry, he knew their saying: sharp features mean refinement, especially suitable for photo shoots.

Stopping by her table, Matthew deliberately looked at her. The girl noticed him and looked up.

"You..." he said with a hint of surprise, "You're... Emma."

Matthew immediately put on a broad smile. "Hello, Emma. Do you remember me?"

Emma Watson put down her fork and quickly stood up. "You're Matthew. We met a few years ago at Pinewood Studios."

"Yes," Matthew nodded. "You were with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley going to the restaurant."

Mentioning the meal, he pointed to the chair opposite Emma Watson. "Can I sit here?"

Emma Watson smiled, highlighting her beautiful lip line. "Please, sit."

Matthew set down his tray and sat across from Emma Watson, remarking, "It's only been a few years, and you've grown up."

"I can't stay a little girl forever, can I?" Emma Watson smiled again, fixing her gaze on Matthew. "But you haven't aged a bit."

Matthew pointed to his face. "I'm only twenty-seven. If I look old now, that would be premature aging."

This made Emma Watson laugh. She then curiously asked, "Why are you here? Are you..."

"I'm here for the UN conference," Matthew explained briefly. "I'm a goodwill ambassador for UNHCR, invited to attend."

He asked Emma Watson, "What about you?"

Emma Watson shrugged slightly. "I'm representing the Women and Children's Foundation."

"Oh..." Matthew nodded lightly, showing an understanding expression.

Emma Watson, despite her young age, was very smart and displayed an expression similar to Matthew's.

Both were in the entertainment industry. Matthew didn't need to say much, and though Emma Watson was younger, she had been in the industry as long as Matthew and understood how things worked.

They chatted over dinner, and by the time they finished, thanks to Matthew's social skills, they had become quite familiar with each other. Emma Watson's memory of meeting him as a child also played a significant role.

"When I first saw you, I thought you were so strong," Emma Watson recalled her first impression of Matthew. "Later, I secretly went to the cinema to watch you in 'The Scorpion King' and thought your muscles must be as hard as rock."

Matthew deliberately flexed his arm, showing off his muscles. "They're actually harder than rock."

Emma Watson, outgoing by nature, pointed to Matthew's arm across the table. "Can I touch your muscle?" She said a bit shyly, "It's been a childhood dream of mine."

"Okay." Matthew moved closer to the table.

Emma Watson leaned over, using one finger to poke Matthew's biceps through his not-too-thick long-sleeved shirt.

"Not quite what I imagined," she murmured to herself. "Hard, yet resilient, as if they could change shape at any moment."

Then she sat back, smiling with one corner of her mouth. "Finally, a childhood dream has come true."

Matthew laughed and said, "Emma, give me your phone number. Whenever you want to fulfill a dream, call me. I'll be there."

Emma Watson suddenly looked at Matthew sideways, the habitual smile on one side of her mouth growing higher. "Matthew, you want my contact information?" She pretended to be serious. "You're not trying to hit on me, are you? I warn you, I'm still underage!"

"Where's your mind going?" Matthew waved his hand. "I knew you when you were ten. I'm not interested in underage kids."

"I..." Emma Watson wanted to retort, but she had just claimed to be underage, so she couldn't deny it. She simply extended her hand. "Give me your phone."

Without hesitation, Matthew handed over his phone. Emma Watson dialed her number, entered her name, called her own phone, heard it ring, then hung up and pressed save before handing it back.

"I'll definitely be coming to Hollywood." She struck a friendly pose. "I don't know many people in America. If anyone bullies me, I'll call you. You have to help me."

Matthew promised earnestly, "Emma, I'll be there."

Emma Watson took out her phone and saved the recent call. "Anyone else from the entertainment industry coming?"

"Natalie Portman will be here." Matthew shook his head. "Besides her, I don't know."

He hadn't seen Natalie Portman yet, but according to the UNHCR staff, she had arrived in Geneva three days earlier.

Matthew and Emma Watson chatted for another half-hour before a middle-aged woman came over, and they said their goodbyes.

"Goodbye, Matthew." Emma Watson waved at him. "See you at the conference tomorrow."

Matthew waved back. "See you at the conference tomorrow."
