Third person POV
The battle at the Karne Kalye eatery was over, with its owners, a family of Wild Aswangs, having been defeated and vanquished to the underworld. Justice for their victims had been delivered. Now, for the whole night until sunrise, the remains of the victims had been carefully transported by police in hazmat suits because of the sheer foul smell and stench the remains emitted. The back kitchen was now a crime scene, and since the perpetrators turned out to be not humans, the case was almost solved. And because of the DNA testing period, Hoshi and his group had to remain in Baguio City for a few days to wait for the lengthy results to come back. During these few days, they passed the time by going around the city, including one farm that was the setting of a Filipino teleserye show from a couple of years ago. Hoshi still remembered how, back when it aired on TV in Japan, he would wait for a new episode of it to come and air on it, and that he will be thrilled at its plot of the night. So, seeing the setting of the show he felt happy and nostalgic. Kuro was quite relaxed by the scenery of the place, too. Hoshi had worn back his glasses shortly after their victory in Karne Kalye's back kitchen. Sha and others are having a good time. Reo and Paulo, as well as Saki, Bokuto, and Leonardo, are with Hoshi at that teleserye setting. The fog of the day and season really added something scenic there.
And then, Leonardo said to Hoshi, "Hoshi, I had a question for you." Hoshi then glanced at him. "Yeah?"
"Was your father's name Louis Santos, right?"
"Yes, he was my late father. Bakit?"
"You know, he was a mage, and my men and I used to be enemies with him."
Hoshi and the others were taken aback by that fact.
"What?"
"Woah…"
"No way…"
"What the what?"
Leonardo then nodded. "Yes, but over 20 years ago, we were at peace with him, and we became friends after that. My men and I left our dark past behind and became law-abiding in society." Hoshi and the others couldn't help but be astonished and bewildered at the history of Leonardo and his men with Louis. If Sha was to be there and hear that, he would be shocked, too. Unfortunately, he was somewhere in downtown Baguio City with Taro and the rest.
Hearing all that, Hoshi felt appreciative of his late father for the peace between him and Leonardo and his men a long time, saying thanks to him in his heart. Although, in fact, his late father was a Roman Catholic with some adaptations of folk magical practices, and Hoshi and Mariya are Evangelical Protestants in the Alexandrian Methodist tradition for more than 5 years now. Despite that, Hoshi was grateful for Louis' effort in the past, and Leonardo even revealed that, at the time of Hoshi's birth, he was there as a godfather to him at a hospital in Baguio City. Hoshi was stunned because he couldn't remember it at all. Leonardo agreed and added, "You were also baptized shortly after that as an infant."
When Hoshi and Mariya converted to Evangelical Protestantism in Japan, they were baptized by full immersion by their church, which was the Alexandrian Methodist Church of Japan.
