It was Kristen's turn to raise an eyebrow as she looked at Travis. She let out a low scoff as she repositioned her legs. "We aren't expecting it to stop the war," she said as if speaking to a child.
"Our hope is that it will at least prolong the start of it," continued Lily, her eyes never leaving Raphael's. "The shifters aren't ready for a war against the humans. Addy warned them several times at the Alpha Meeting, and her concerns were just brushed aside."
"Anyone who even breathes about the idea of shifter/human wars is thought to be crazy," interjected Kristen with a tight smile. "The humans have had maybe over 20 years to prepare for what comes next. We haven't."
"So, everything is going to depend on the humans," smiled Lily, looking at her nails. "If they back off at the destruction of the government building, then everything is fine. The Shifter Council will start preparing for a future war, and everyone will continue to live their lives happily."
