"Twenty-five!" shouted Toby, the gleam in his eyes easy to see from where I stood. "A very smart investment, Mr. Wolf," he chuckled to the man with the silver wolf mask. Given everything that I had heard from the inspirational opening speech, there was no way that shifter was actually a wolf.
"Now you can reject any potential mating bonds and fuck who you like whenever you like!" screamed Toby, as once again, the crowd cheered.
So, these men had issues with wolves and mating bonds. Clearly, they were the absolute crème de la crème of shifters if they thought they deserved more than what the goddess determined to be the perfect match for them.
But it might actually be a relief to the poor, unsuspecting women forced into a mating bond with them. In fact, I can now kind of see why the bunnies were flocking to wolves instead of their own species. If Toby was the quintessential bunny male, then I wouldn't want anything to do with the rest of them, either.
