Chapter 382 - Chapter 382: A Not So Promising Future

"Naruto, what happened?" Yamato asked, looking at Naruto as he approached after extinguishing the flames.

He was just as confused as the situation seemed. One moment, he had been fighting enemies in the ruins, and the next, he found himself in a bustling town.

Naruto grinned and pointed at Kakashi, saying, "Captain Yamato, look who I ran into. Kakashi-sensei actually has a child, and he's about the same age as Konohamaru."

"That's impossible, Kakashi-senpai couldn't possibly…" Yamato instinctively began to deny Naruto's words.

He had known Kakashi for so long, how could he not know that Kakashi had always been single? But when he finally saw the young man Naruto was pointing to, he froze in shock.

The number of Naruto's Shadow Clones on the scene was overwhelming, and the previous chaos with the firestorm and water waves had severely obstructed Yamato's vision. Only after carefully looking did Yamato realize that the young man Naruto was pointing at really did resemble Hatake Kakashi.

The same silver hair, the black mask covering half of his face, no scar on his eye, and he didn't have that dead-fish eye look—he actually looked quite spirited. He was practically a younger version of Kakashi.

"And he's also named Hatake," Naruto said with a grin.

To him, this was a no-brainer. The silver-haired young man must be Kakashi's son. He looked so much like him, even shared the same surname—what else could he be if not his son?

Yamato was momentarily speechless in shock. If his surname was Hatake, then it was definitely Kakashi's son. After all, Hatake wasn't a common surname like Watanabe or Tanaka.

Kakashi's fist was clenched, tightening with frustration.

He glared at Yamato and Naruto. For the first time, he felt an overwhelming urge to punch someone. If he thought he could win, he would have already rushed over to give them both a good smack.

Naruto's strength didn't need much explanation. He had already witnessed it firsthand—his Chakra was vast and unfathomable, his body strong, and he had a No Seal Ninjutsu with immense power.

Yamato had just used Water Release without any hand seals, which clearly indicated that he was also a formidable Water Release Ninja.

As angry as Kakashi was, Obito was equally amused. This situation was just too entertaining. First, a disciple of Kakashi's, and now a descendant of Kakashi's.

However, since they were in the middle of a fight, Obito did his best to suppress his laughter, only letting out chuckles when he couldn't hold them back.

"Since you're Kakashi-senpai's son, how did you end up fighting?" Yamato asked, looking at Naruto in confusion.

"It's not that I wanted to bully him, he was the one who started it," Naruto explained. "I gave him my Ninja ID, but he insisted I wasn't a Konoha Ninja, and then we ended up fighting."

Even if this got back to Hatake Kakashi, Naruto felt like he was in the right.

"This…" Yamato's expression grew even more confused. He suspected that Naruto had left out some important details. How could a fight have broken out over something so trivial?

As for not recognizing Naruto, Yamato didn't think much of it. While Naruto was well-known in Konoha, not everyone knew him. For example, Yamato had known Kakashi for over ten years and didn't know he had a son.

"Naruto might not express himself very well, so let me handle the communication," Yamato said. "I'm Yamato, a Jonin of Konoha. Here's my Ninja ID." Yamato took out his Ninja ID from his tool pouch and showed it to Kakashi.

"What do you mean I can't speak well?" Naruto protested, clearly upset. It wasn't his fault.

Yamato temporarily ignored Naruto's complaint and continued carefully observing Obito and the others, watching their reactions.

Hearing Yamato's words, Kakashi's gaze sharpened as he looked at the Ninja ID Yamato had presented.

Kakashi first looked at the Ninja ID number, and as expected, it was absurd.

This self-proclaimed Konoha Jonin, Yamato, had a Ninja ID number of 010992. If this was a Konoha Ninja, then he could only be from the same graduating class as Obito.

Graduating less than a year ago, jumping straight from Genin to Jonin—this kind of thing would never happen, even in the most unrealistic novels. If Kakashi wasn't stalling for time waiting for Mutsuki, he would have already started mocking him.

"What should we do now?" Obito, having exited his Flame Breathing Chakra Mode, walked over to Kakashi and whispered.

He wasn't really stupid. Given the current situation, they probably couldn't win this fight.

Rin also walked over and looked at Kakashi.

Although there wasn't an official team captain, when it came to situations like this, it was usually Kakashi who made the decisions.

"Don't talk too much, just follow my lead and adapt as the situation changes," Kakashi calmly exhaled and said.

There was no way to continue fighting now. What Kakashi needed to do was wait for Mutsuki.

"Mm, no problem, Yamato Jonin, hello. The incident earlier was a misunderstanding." Kakashi tossed Naruto's Ninja ID back to him and spoke.

Since the other side wanted to pose as Konoha Ninjas, Kakashi decided to play along and take them to meet Mutsuki. He didn't believe these two ninjas could be stronger than the Hidden Cloud's A and B combination.

"What's this? Captain Yamato's is fine, though." Naruto glanced at his Ninja ID, then looked at Yamato's, not feeling much difference.

Yamato smiled and nodded, putting his ID away.

"You two are here to capture a Ninja named Mukade, right? I happened to hear our Captain mention this name earlier. How about I take you to meet our Captain? It'll also make up for the misunderstanding earlier," Kakashi said with a sincere expression, putting on his Konoha forehead protector from his ninja tool pouch as he spoke.

"When did Yumi-sensei..." Obito started to ask, but then noticed Kakashi's gaze and immediately shut up.

He was a bit impressed by Kakashi, as he lied without blinking, making it sound completely believable.

"That's great, then," Yamato said with a smile, nodding.

He had been thinking of checking the documents of Obito and the others, but the silver-haired young man looked exactly like Kakashi, dressed the same, and even had the Konoha forehead protector. Moreover, the Fire Release ninjutsu Obito used was a well-known high-powered technique from Konoha, so there was no doubt about their identity.

It wasn't like during the previous Ninja World War, where villages were constantly running espionage operations.

"By the way, what's your name?" Yamato couldn't help but feel his curiosity rising.

If he didn't think it would be too rude, he almost wanted to ask directly who Kakashi's mother was.

"Hatake Obito," Kakashi said without changing his expression.

Since the other party wanted to use his name to mess with him, Kakashi decided to play along, after all, the ultimate goal was just to buy time.

Upon hearing Kakashi's words, Obito was stunned. He looked at Kakashi with a dumbfounded expression. Kakashi called himself Obito, so what was his own name? Uchiha Kakashi?

Well, that works—he became the substitution.

"So your name is Obito? Kakashi-senpai really kept this hidden well," Yamato remarked with a sigh.

He was really curious about the story behind it. He couldn't imagine that the Kakashi-senpai he knew could have such a grown-up son, especially since he always seemed so...

Kakashi twitched his mouth, unable to suppress the urge to clench his fists. The feeling of being tricked and helpless to resist was just too uncomfortable.

Obito also wore an unhappy expression, realizing he was the one at a disadvantage. Looking at it this way, didn't it make him seem like Kakashi's son?

"Dammit, Kakashi, was this part of your plan too?" Obito cursed inwardly.

Yamato's gaze towards Kakashi became increasingly friendly.

"By the way, who's your Captain?" Yamato casually asked.

"Mutsuki Yumi, though he's different from you, Yamato Jonin. Captain Mutsuki is a Special Jonin," Kakashi quickly replied.

Mutsuki was different from Minato. If it had been Minato, Kakashi would have just lied and given a different name, since Minato had gained significant fame during the Ninja World War.

To avoid arousing suspicion, Kakashi lied about Mutsuki's Ninja rank, saying that Mutsuki was just a Special Jonin. He didn't even mention that Mutsuki was their sensei, only referring to him as their Captain.

Yamato smiled and nodded without speaking because he didn't know this Special Jonin Kakashi mentioned.

Since he had either been in Root or ANBU before, Yamato's social circle was fairly small, and he didn't know many Ninjas.

Seeing that the conversation had reached this point, Mutsuki's hidden Shadow Clone notified his main body, prompting him to come and handle the situation. If he didn't arrive soon, it would look a little too late.

Whoosh!

Upon receiving the notification, Mutsuki immediately used Flying Thunder God Jutsu to teleport next to Kakashi and the others.

When someone suddenly appeared by his side, Yamato instinctively took two steps back. When he noticed the person was wearing a Konoha Ninja uniform, he stopped himself from making any further moves.

"Yumi-sensei, these two are unidentified individuals disguised as Konoha Ninjas," Kakashi quickly explained the situation to Mutsuki upon his arrival.

"Our Konoha Ninja certificate's anti-counterfeiting technology may have been compromised. Although there are obvious errors in the certificate's content, other aspects are consistent with a genuine certificate."

Obito and Rin also stood beside Mutsuki, watching Naruto and Yamato with caution.

"What's going on here?" Naruto scratched his head, still a bit confused about what was happening.

"Obito, what's going on here?" Yamato looked at Kakashi in confusion.

His ANBU Captain's Ninja ID couldn't be fake, so how did they suddenly turn into unidentified individuals posing as Konoha Ninjas?

And weren't they supposed to have information on Mukade? How did everything suddenly change like this?

Yamato thought Kakashi's son was just as unpredictable as him.

"I understand. You all step back, I'll handle this." Mutsuki nodded, signaling his disciples to move to a safe distance.

Although Mutsuki was fully aware of the situation, from the perspective of his disciples, he didn't know what had happened, so he had to act a little.

"At a time like this, you still want to pretend? I'm Hatake Kakashi," Kakashi said coldly.

The constant teasing had Kakashi fuming inside; he was truly angry now.

However, for Yamato and Naruto, Kakashi's calm statement was nothing short of shocking, almost as if a friend's son was seriously declaring he was his father—giving them a déjà vu of someone claiming to be their father with complete sincerity.

"If you're Kakashi-sensei, then I'm the Sixth Hokage," Naruto retorted.

No matter how confused he might get, there was no way he'd mistake a young white-haired guy for his sensei, who was already in his thirties.

At that moment, Naruto glanced a few times at Mutsuki, who was standing beside Kakashi, and suddenly thought Mutsuki looked somewhat familiar.

"That guy, the one with the silly look wearing the orange tracksuit, has a lot of Chakra, can create over a hundred Shadow Clones in one go, and the other one, the slightly dazed-looking Ninja, is good with Water Release. Their strength should be far above a regular Jonin." Kakashi continued, quickly giving the known information about Yamato and Naruto.

He was confident in Mutsuki's strength, but when there was information to share, he did so. Helping Mutsuki win more easily felt like doing his part.

"One with a silly look? Bastard, I'll make you cry even if you are Kakashi-sensei's son!" Naruto, feeling deeply insulted, rolled up his sleeves and gritted his teeth as he spoke.

"Look dazed?" Yamato felt somewhat hurt inside. Did he really look like that?

Kakashi, with an expression of indifference, wasn't seeking revenge for Naruto and Yamato's previous actions; he was just speaking the truth.

"Is there some kind of misunderstanding?" Yamato asked, grabbing Naruto by the arm.

He wasn't afraid of fighting, but he didn't want to get into a conflict with fellow Konoha Ninjas over something trivial. No matter who got hurt, it would be bad for Konoha.

"If you still don't believe us, you can contact the Fifth Hokage-sama. This mission was personally assigned to us by the Fifth Hokage-sama," Yamato said.

At this point, even Rin couldn't hold it in anymore. The Fifth Hokage? What was this person talking about? Has he lost his mind? Konoha's Hokage was still the Third.

Kakashi, however, seemed to be lost in thought. If earlier words were meant to provoke him, what did it mean now when they mentioned the Fifth Hokage? Was it some kind of curse for the Hokage to die early?

"Sorry, but what you're saying just makes you sound even stranger. The Hokage position in Konoha has only passed to the Third Hokage," Mutsuki gently reminded.

Upon hearing Mutsuki's words, both Yamato and Naruto froze in place.

"But Grandpa Hokage.... at the Chunin Exams…?" Naruto looked at Mutsuki in confusion.

Yamato, connecting the words of Kakashi and Mutsuki with the strange changes happening around them, suddenly came to a terrifying realization—had they somehow crossed through time and space?

The reason the white-haired boy looked so much like Kakashi wasn't because he was Kakashi's son, but because he was Kakashi as a child!

As for why Kakashi thought their ninja IDs were fake, it was likely due to the ninja numbers. Ten or so years ago, the ninja numbers in Konoha probably hadn't even reached the numbers on their IDs.

After piecing everything together, Yamato finally understood why Kakashi had been so angry. If one day someone suddenly told him that he was his own son, he wouldn't be too happy either.

"Could he be the future Fourth Hokage? Wait, no, the Fourth Hokage's name is Minato Namikaze, and he doesn't wear glasses," Yamato thought to himself, nearly mistaking Mutsuki for the Fourth Hokage in his rock face.

After thinking it over carefully, Yamato felt that they must just look alike. Kakashi had mentioned Mutsuki's name earlier.

Yamato wanted to say something, but when Mutsuki charged at him, he had no choice but to give up on explaining.

"Time travel really is quite unbelievable. I'll explain it properly after we defeat him," Yamato thought to himself.

This situation was so bizarre that Yamato figured no one would believe him if he just blurted out that the other side were Konoha ninjas.

"Wood Release: Great Forest Jutsu!"

With the eruption of chakra from Yamato, multiple wooden vines and branches shot out from his arm toward Mutsuki.

"Wood Release?!" Kakashi stared in shock at the large branches extending from Yamato's arm.

Although no Konoha ninja had used Wood Release since Senju Hashirama's death, every Konoha ninja knew about it. The First Hokage may have died, but his legacy lived on in textbooks, and many people who were familiar with the "God of Ninjas" were still alive.

In the hearts of Konoha's people, Wood Release was the strongest Kekkei Genkai. No other techniques like Sharingan, Byakugan, Ice Release, or Magnet Release could compare. Wood Release was invincible.

"Is this Wood Release? Doesn't look that strong," Obito said, stroking his chin.

The Wood Release that Obito had imagined should have been more spectacular, like creating a small forest with a single ninjutsu.

Obito thought it would be very convenient if someone in their group could use Wood Release. That way, they wouldn't have to constantly change their training spot in the Forest of Death. Whenever they damaged a tree, they could just create new ones instead.

"Could they really be Konoha ninjas?" Rin kept wondering in her heart.

Once the Wood Release was used, even the fake documents didn't matter anymore.

Facing the incoming thick branches, Mutsuki didn't retreat. Instead, he focused his strength into his right hand and unleashed his chakra, swinging his hand to chop at the attacking branches.

Boom!

Under Mutsuki's immense strength, the four incoming branches shattered and fell to the ground.

"Such strong power," Yamato exclaimed, looking at Mutsuki in astonishment.

The wood created by Wood Release wasn't like ordinary trees. It was not only much harder but also had the special effect of absorbing chakra. The fact that Mutsuki was able to easily shatter the Wood Release ninjutsu showed just how incredible his strength was.

"Captain Yamato, leave this to me!" Naruto erupted with chakra and quickly formed hand seals.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

In an instant, dozens of Naruto's Shadow Clones appeared on the field.

"Konoha Dragon God!"

Before Naruto's Shadow Clones could even begin attacking, Mutsuki immediately gathered his strength and unleashed Konoha Dragon God. To avoid drawing too much attention, Mutsuki deliberately controlled the size of the technique.

Under the powerful offensive of the Konoha Dragon God, all of Naruto's Shadow Clones were instantly destroyed, and even Naruto's main body was sent flying.

After clearing the Shadow Clones, Mutsuki dispelled the Konoha Dragon God. This Taijutsu was convenient for dealing with fodder, but if he used it with full power, it would cause a lot of noise.

Yamato helplessly rubbed his forehead, his expression becoming more serious as he began forming hand seals again.

He had held back earlier, worried about hurting Mutsuki, but given Mutsuki's current performance, he realized that if he didn't go all out, it would be impossible to keep up.

"Wood Release: Wood Spikes Ring Jutsu!"

As Yamato completed his hand seals, thick tree roots, vines, and wooden rods shot up from the ground, reaching out to grab Mutsuki.

Mutsuki didn't dodge. Instead, he threw three Flying Thunder God Kunai toward Yamato and Naruto.

When throwing the Kunai, Mutsuki didn't use any special techniques or ninjutsu; he simply tossed them normally, so Naruto and Yamato easily sidestepped them.

At that moment, however, the vines and wooden rods created by Yamato's Wood Release had already wrapped around Mutsuki's body, about to bind him.

"It's over," Yamato thought, believing the battle had been won.

Whoosh!

In the next moment, Yamato suddenly realized that Mutsuki had disappeared from his sight, and a tremendous force slammed into his back.

"Captain Yamato, watch out behind you!" Naruto shouted.

But it was too late. Before Naruto and Yamato could react, Mutsuki had already made his move.

Bang!

A heavy thud echoed as Yamato's body violently collided with the ground.

"Did Kakashi-senpai just deceive me again? Was the name he told me also fake?" Yamato thought, feeling frustrated.

Anyone who knew a bit about the Fourth Hokage knew that his strongest ninjutsu was the Flying Thunder God Jutsu.

With how much Mutsuki resembled the Hokage's monument and his overwhelming mastery of the Flying Thunder God, who else could he be but the Fourth Hokage?

Thinking this way, Yamato felt much better. Losing to the future Fourth Hokage didn't seem so bad—after all, this was the future Hokage.

"Damn it!" Seeing Yamato knocked down, Naruto's anger flared. The massive amount of chakra in his body erupted as he formed a Rasengan and charged toward Mutsuki at full speed.

Watching Naruto rushing toward him, Mutsuki made no excessive movements. He simply pulled out a Kunai marked with the Flying Thunder God Seal.

As Naruto closed in, Mutsuki threw the Kunai and immediately activated the Flying Thunder God Jutsu to teleport.

Whoosh!

Naruto suddenly blinked, shocked to find that Mutsuki was no longer in front of him. His Rasengan had smashed nothing but air.

"How did he do that? How could he move so fast?" The speed Mutsuki displayed was beyond Naruto's comprehension.

This wasn't even a matter of seeing or not seeing; he hadn't seen Mutsuki move at all.

Boom!

In the next moment, a terrifying force hit Naruto, sending him crashing to the ground next to Yamato.

Kakashi watched Mutsuki in shock. He wasn't surprised that Mutsuki had defeated Naruto and Yamato—he had expected that. What shocked Kakashi was the Flying Thunder God technique Mutsuki had displayed.

From what Mutsuki had told him, he had learned it from Minato Namikaze not long ago, but Kakashi could tell that Mutsuki's proficiency with the Flying Thunder God was far beyond that of a beginner. In fact, his skill was almost on par with Minato's.

Kakashi gained a new understanding of Mutsuki's terrifying ninja abilities.

In Kakashi's mind, Mutsuki was the most talented ninja. At less than twenty years old, he had already developed incredible Secret Jutsu like Breathing Technique and Armament Haki.

Given the completeness of the Breathing Technique, Kakashi had reason to believe that Mutsuki had developed it even before the age of sixteen.

At this rate, Kakashi thought, Mutsuki's achievements in Ninjutsu would surely surpass even the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama.

"Impressive as always, Yumi-sensei! What a powerful Flying Thunder God Jutsu!" Obito exclaimed, his expression full of excitement as he watched Mutsuki easily defeat the ninja they could not overcome.

After all, Mutsuki had mentioned before that he would teach Obito the Flying Thunder God Jutsu someday.

Obito was already fantasizing about performing some cool moves using the Flying Thunder God in the future.

"Pfft pfft!" Naruto, with his usual resilience, spat out the dirt from his mouth and quickly got back up, ready to continue the fight.

"Naruto, don't make a move," Yamato quickly sat up and grabbed Naruto.

"We've traveled back in time. The person in front of us is very likely the Fourth Hokage. There's no need for us to fight because of this misunderstanding," Yamato said in a barely audible voice.

He felt that continuing the fight was pointless, as any injury to either side would be a loss for Konoha.

"I knew he looked familiar! So he's the Fourth Hokage from the Hokage Monument," Naruto said with a look of realization.

"Big brother, could you take off your glasses?" Naruto asked, acting overly familiar, as if forgetting they were in the middle of a battle.

Mutsuki hadn't activated his Byakugan, so he obliged, removing his glasses and placing them into his ninja tool pouch.

Naruto's eyes lit up at once, slapping his palm with his fist. "Now it looks just like him! So big brother, you're the Fourth Hokage!"

Yamato covered his face with his hand. He'd kept his voice low to avoid revealing anything about the future, but Naruto had blurted it out loud, making all his efforts to control the volume seem pointless.

Talking about future events is one thing, but doing so in a situation where the Hokage lineage only extends to the Third is really like provocation.

"Could they be patients who escaped from a mental hospital?" Obito couldn't help but say.

Naruto's words had made Obito start to question if he himself might be mentally ill.

Obito had no doubt that Mutsuki had the potential to become Hokage, after all, this was the all-powerful Mutsuki Sage. But Konoha didn't have a Fourth Hokage yet.

"Could you two be ninjas who traveled back from the future?" Kakashi asked in surprise, connecting all of Yamato and Naruto's behavior and actions during the fight.

At first, he thought Yamato and Naruto were just messing with him, but now that he thought about it carefully, he realized they had never shown any murderous intent. They had always held back in their attacks, and their fighting spirit seemed quite lacking, as if they weren't really enemies at all.

But if Yamato and Naruto were ninjas from the future, then everything about their behavior and actions made perfect sense, from their ninja IDs to their mannerisms.

The reason they believed he was Kakashi's son was because they knew the future Kakashi. In their time, the Third Hokage and fourth had already passed away, and the position of Hokage had been passed on to the Fifth Hokage.

Although this conclusion seemed bizarre, there were only two possibilities: either Naruto and Yamato were mentally unstable, or they were ninjas who had traveled from the future to the past.

Because Yamato could use Wood Release, Kakashi leaned toward the latter.

"As expected of Kakashi-senpai," Yamato couldn't help but praise.

Although Kakashi liked to tease people, Yamato had to admit Kakashi's abilities were formidable.

Kakashi had a strange expression. It felt odd for a ninja in his twenties to address him as "Senpai".

"Kakashi, your brain isn't broken too, is it?" Obito said with concern as he looked at Kakashi. He had never heard of mental illness being contagious.

Though time travel was a common trope in novels, how could it possibly happen in reality? The world would have fallen into chaos.

"Yumi-sensei, here's the situation..." Kakashi temporarily ignored Obito and explained his suspicions to Mutsuki.

"Could you please show me your Ninja ID cards?" Mutsuki asked Naruto and Yamato with a warm smile.

Yamato and Naruto handed over their ID cards without hesitation.

"There's indeed no problem, except for the information on them," Mutsuki nodded and said.

"I used to serve as an ANBU Captain, so if you're still unsure, we can cross-check with Konoha's confidential information," Yamato added.

Yamato's words made Kakashi glance at him. Captain was considered one of the ANBU's leaders, with only three positions higher: the ANBU Chief, the ANBU Vice-Chief, and the current Hokage.

Mutsuki didn't refuse, stepping aside to briefly chat with Yamato before announcing the final conclusion.

"They are indeed Konoha Ninjas, but they are from the future."

Then, Mutsuki, looking apologetic, apologized for his earlier actions.

"It's okay, after all, from your perspective, we do seem pretty suspicious," Yamato said, understanding.

"Naruto, have you ever heard of a powerful Ninja named Obito?" Obito asked excitedly, looking at Naruto.

The future ANBU Captain actually calls Kakashi "Senpai" If even Kakashi, who has no ambition, is like that, does it mean Obito will become Hokage? Could he be the Fifth Hokage?

"Obito? I don't remember him," Naruto scratched his head and said.

"How could you not have heard of him? Think about it carefully. His full name is Uchiha Obito. He uses Sharingan, has great Fire Release power, and might even know Flying Thunder God," Obito said, a little anxious. How could he be worse off than Kakashi, to the point that his name wasn't even recognized?

Upon hearing Obito's words, Naruto fell silent for a moment.

At that time, the Uchiha clan had been wiped out, with only Uchiha Itachi and Sasuke remaining.

"What about Might Guy?" Obito asked, unwilling to give up.

"Super thick eyebrows sensei, his Taijutsu is really strong," Naruto said honestly.

"That nickname does suit Guy, but why don't you know me?" Obito said, feeling quite frustrated.

Yamato glanced at Obito's expression, wanting to say something but holding back. He was wondering whether or not to tell Obito the harsh truth, and whether it would change history if he did.

"What about Nohara Rin?" Kakashi, who had been observing, suddenly asked.

He hadn't planned on asking about the future. To Kakashi, knowing the future in advance would take away some of life's fun.

But Yamato's expression and Naruto's answer made Kakashi suspect something unpleasant.

"She's not there," Naruto shook his head and answered.

Kakashi's heart sank. If they knew him and Guy, but not Obito or Rin, setting aside the possibility of their severed relationships, based on Obito and Rin's performance, they would definitely be excellent Jonin in the future. The only conclusion left was...

Kakashi didn't dare think any further.

"Maybe in the future, I'll be a doctor in a hospital. It's normal not to be famous," Rin said softly, but her smile wasn't as natural as usual.

She didn't have Kakashi's exceptional wisdom, but she was quite perceptive. Naruto's words had revealed too much information.

"What about Asuma?" Obito asked, intending to go through the names of people he was close to one by one.

When Obito mentioned Asuma, both Naruto and Yamato's faces darkened.

For them, Asuma's funeral was still a recent event.

For Naruto, Asuma had been the sensei who taught him Wind Release Nature Transformation, and for Yamato, Asuma was someone with whom he could share a drink and talk openly. Both of them were affected.

Seeing Naruto and Yamato's expressions, even Obito sensed that something was off.
