Yin wasn't exactly sure what she was expecting when it came to the 'big bads' of Fairy Tail in their early years. Brain was a dark skinned man with neat, slicked back white hair, black tattoo line-patterns on his face and body and an overall muscular physique. Ultear, hiding in the back? Just a ten or eleven year old kid.
"Who are you, intruder? You've managed to impress me and anger me at the same time.." Brain sneered, though carefully looked Yin over.
Despite her looks and somewhat impressive physique, he couldn't really feel anything truly special about her. Though instead of growing cocky, this fact put him more on edge. There wasn't even a drop of blood on her despite how strong the strench of blood outside his room was.
"Yin. That's all I need to tell you. I should keep you busy 'till Irene comes up here but I think she might kill that kid hiding over there in a fit of rage too, so.." Instantly, Ultear felt a cold bead of sweat fall down her back and slowly stepped out, unsure of how to act.
"Good girl. Just stay put and I won't have to hog-tie you. Delivering you to your Mom would be a bit awkward then." Yin shrugged, ignoring the shock and outrage on little Ultear's face.
"Dark Cappricio!" Brain chanted, waving a skull-head staff at Yin and sending a piercing beam of darkness at her.
A spell which she immediately ate. The darkness sucked into her mouth like a spaghetti noodle. Yin then stuck her tongue out at him like he was the world's shittiest chef.
"Dark Cappucino? That shit was trash. Absolute dogshit. You should be ashamed to call yourself a Dark Mage with shit magic like that. What, do you use that magic to kill roaches? Honestly.. what'd I expect from a child exploiter?" Brain felt his jaw clench hearing Yin's continuous dissing.
Even his staff, Klonoa was holding back a laugh but disguised it as a cough.
*Cough!* "Sorry I had something in my throat.." The skull staff lied.
Brain clicked his tongue but ignored the disrespect for now. He glared fiercely at Yin and raised Klonoa up with a stoic expression.
"You'll regret mocking me. Dark Gravity!" Brain shouted, casting a spell that instantly made the entire room over three times as heavy.
*CRACK!*
Yin's feet cracked the stone floor yet she remained standing, not even hunched over. Not everyone had the physique strong enough to easily handle three times the normal gravity nor the huge amount of magic to push through. Unfortunately for Brain, he had no idea the girl in front of him was easily handling the gravity.
"I'll increase the gravity if need be. Then let's see if you can still devour my magic. Of course, if you give up now, get on your knees and prove yourself worthy of keeping alive with that venomous mouth of yours.. I may show you my magnamity." Brain declared as he spread his arms out with a sinister grin.
Yin snorted and effortlessly took three steps forward, "Sorry, I'm not really a fan of shrimp so I'll have to pass. You want head? Try this."
"Shadow Dragon's Sword Horn." Yin dashed forward, body wreathed in Darkness mana as she instantly closed in on Brain and drove her head right into his sternum.
*CRA-CRACK!!*
Brain's body rocketed into the back wall, partially embedding itself into the stone. His eyes bulged as he felt blood and bile rise out of his throat. With multiple wet coughs, he coughed up blood and plegm. His sternum and ribs were broken and he felt his internal organs were bruised in just the one attack.
But Yin? Yin sighed and shook her head in disappointment.
"Your own talent for dark magic saved you. Along with the magic reinforcing and buffing your body. But I guess I share the blame too. This 'emotion' focus for magic is harder to use than instinctual magic." Yin muttered the last part before reaching into her inventory and shooting the ground near the entrance door, stopping Ultear right before she could reach it.
"You're not leaving, kid. Way I see it, you can either try and flee, try to fight me or be a good girl and wait for me to deal with you. What'll it be?" Yin asked, not even turning to face the shaking ten year old.
She had no idea but Ultear had been getting increasingly scared of her throughout the 'fight' she was having with Brain. The man who was teaching her about magic, the one who led her on her current path? He was effortlessly one shotted by a girl who didn't even look like she was trying. Frankly, Ultear couldn't even imagine trying to actually fight her.
'If only I had better mastery of time.. I could get away from this monster.' Ultear thought, slowly backing away from the door as she bit down on her lip.
"Good girl. Now-" "GENESIS ZERO!!" Brain screamed, his skin paling, eyes going red and tattoos disappearing as he transformed and his magic power increased.
Several phantoms made of dark magic honed in on Yin, intent on erasing her existence. But as soon as they touched her skin and hair, the phantoms dispersed.
"Who ARE you!? Dark Rondo! Dark DELETE!" The transformed Brain screamed as he ran forward and launched spells at Yin while rearing his fist back.
Spheres of darkness and more phantoms made of dark magic flew at Yin, destroying much of the circular room. The newly transformed Brain, named 'Zero' struck out and his fist was caught by Yin's hand.
"I'm trying not to laugh here but.. really? Just slap 'Dark' in front of these stupid ass names and call them a spell? If I looked up 'tryhard' and 'edgelord' in the dictionary I bet your picture's under both of them. Do you think it sounds cool? Do you think this look is more intimidating? You became white and lost the tattoos.. are your next attacks job applications? I'm trying to summon up some anger for using my magic but you're making me fucking laugh.." Yin laughed, clenching her fingers and breaking Zero's right hand before shoving him back.
"Now shut up so I can get this right.." Yin took a deep breath and wiped the amused smirk off her face.
'The easiest trigger for magic is anger. Too bad I really couldn't give a rats ass about this C tier edgelord dark mage. Mages here scream about friendship and family to get riled up and use that as a focus for their magic power. So I need to think and come up with different images and scenarios that make me angry.'
First, she thought about something minor. Stubbing her toe. A very minor annoyance, given she's more likely to wreck the table than get hurt.
Her magic rose, filling the room with a small pressure that immediately set the still Ultear and wounded Zero on edge.
Then, she thought about being forced to watch 'Caillou' again. Something actually very irritating, given how often as a toddler she was subject to it.
*CRACK!!*
The magic power rose again, directly creating spider-web cracks all over the hardened stone room. Ultear fell on her butt, eyes widening as a visible aura rose from Yin. Zero rose up again, clutching his hand as besides the increasing magic power, he felt the bizarre surge in ethernano around Yin.
Then, Yin imagined losing someone like Ren and Nora. Actual anger. The pressure made Ultear's eyes water and cold sweat appeared all over her body. Zero stepped back, seeing a sinister silhouette of a Dragon behind Yin.
"Wait.. Do you want the tower? I don't need it anymore..." He tried negotiating, stepping back as the magic power surged beyond the room.
*CRUMBLE!*
Then she imagined losing Shia, her Mother and several other core people closer to her. The tower shook, bathed in a multi-colored magical power that knocked Ultear out directly. Zero stared in awe and horror as the ethernano was stirred into a frenzy, as if alive. Every particle scraping against his skin felt like sandpaper. The image of the enraged Dragon behind her almost solid.
Then, lastly...
She imagined losing Yang.
Everything stilled. The ethernano floated, almost seeming to be frozen. The magical power around Yin encompassed not just the tower but even reached the shore of Hargeon.
"Fuu..." Yin released her breath, now having a more solid grasp of how to utilize magic power using emotion.
Then she looked at the tear stained face of Zero, who had been staring at her the entire time. His skin was white as sheet, the glowing red eyes had dimmed to gray and he looked as if he aged fifty years in one instant.
Yin waved in his face but got no reaction. He was catatonic. As if his soul was ejected from his body.
"Oh well." Yin shrugged, calling upon the mental image of Nora and Ren dying before swiping her arm across his neck.
"Shadow Dragon's claw." And with that last attack, Zero and Brain were beheaded, dying completely and severing the entire top roof of the tower in one go.
"Now let's get you downstairs~." Yin hummed, picking up Ultear like a sack of potatoes as she made her way out of the room in a good mood.
"Hey, Erza let's g-oh." Yin opened the door outside and saw Erza, also passed out on the ground.
Shrugging, she carried Erza over her other shoulder and started walking back downstairs. After a flight of stairs, she heard the rapid clicking of heels and saw a concerned Irene running up the tower. When Irene saw Yin, she immediately stopped, her expression screaming incredible concern.
"What happened?" Irene asked, though she noted the redhead girl on Yin's right shoulder, she looked way more concerned about Yin at the moment.
"Well I found little Erza for one.. then I beat up the mastermind of this tower, picked up another kid with Mommy issues and came back down. Why do you look so concerned?" Yin asked, her brow raised.
"You... Do you not realize the insane magical power you unleashed? I've met powerful mages but not many who could knock people out from a distance with just sheer magical power. Even the ethernano itself looked angry. And then the last part..." Irene shook her head, feeling a shiver go up her spine and scalp remembering how wrong that felt.
"I was practicing. Figured I'd set up mental images to get my magic power going. Emotions are kinda vital to that and my spells weren't having the devastating effects I wanted them to have." Yin explained, earning herself a look of quiet understanding from Irene.
"Well you knocked out everyone but me and that mage Rob in the tower. It might have reached further beyond so we should really get out of here. If Acnologia is near Fiore he'll definitely come flying here." Irene sighed before looking at the little Erza on Yin's shoulder.
"Yeah it's time to dip. Here, you carry her. You're the Mommy after all." Yin smirked and put Erza in Irene's open arms.
"My little girl.." Irene whispered then shook her head and quickly descended down the stairs with Yin, until they reached the outside.
Outside, Rob had placed all the unconsciois kids in a large boat and smiled at them both.
"You're absolutely incredible. Fighting hundreds with just a staff. And you.." Rob turned to Yin with a gleam in his eye. "Your magic is incredible. I reckon you can beat Gildarts with that absurd magic power. I'm sure the kids'll be happy too.. all of them awakened magic due to that."
Yin blinked, then looked at Irene holding Erza. She just gave a wry smile and nodded while walking over to the boat.
"Yes, Erza's awakened her magic too. That's part of why I was so surprised when I saw you. Even for Dragons it's..." Irene trailed off and shook her head.
"We can talk about it later. We're going back to Hargeon. We can talk about what to do with the little ones when we get there." Irene added, getting into the boat with Erza, making sure to be extra careful.
"Sounds good. Though I think I have a pretty good idea about what they'll want to do." Yin agreed, getting in while cradling Ultear and letting her rest her head on her chest.
Then, they departed the crumbling tower, leaving the ruin behind with nobody but them surviving the ordeal.
