Feeling the back of my hair rise as the space before me rippled, I watched as a golden streak manifested from out of nowhere and shattered the illusion that I had set up in advance as it swirled out of existence.
Swoosh, swoosh—!
Just when I thought I had managed to take care of one attack, the space around me rippled in all directions as a series of golden streaks shot down once more.
Tap.
Pebble pressed its paw on my shoulder, and the arrows stopped.
And yet—
"Human!"
Pebble wasn't able to stop all of the attacks at once. Several arrows managed to move past its control, and I had no choice but to imagine a pink orb while simultaneously bringing my hand up as threads shot out in the directions of the incoming attacks.
Some shattered, but…
Bang—!
Some still managed to get through my defenses as I was pushed back several steps.
