Chapter 495 - Chapter 495. Effects Of The Level Ups Shake The Continent.

To say that the Wild Continent was going through a collective wave of shocks was an understatement. When Liu Shu's titles and promotion were ongoing at an accelerated pace, it meant that the people were currently feeling the changes in quite a brusque manner. 

Usually, the Level Up and changes of titles would be gradual. And while the World Tree's aura would become turbulent as it developed, it didn't really affect everyday matters. 

However, Liu Shu was a World Tree whose roots covered the entire continent, other than Warlya's comparatively small domain. Moreover, the energy from the Tier-Ups made the Leveling Up process even faster.

Thanks to the new skill, all structures that were connected with Liu Shu were increasing in both tier and level as well. To say that the Golden Sap City was transforming into an impenetrable fortress was not an exaggeration. After all, Liu Shu's structures followed their mother's level through the connection. So, all Tree Houses were going through the process together with their mother. 

Flor, Melody, and many other people were gathered in one of the Lignified Town Hall trees, looking out of the large window as the Ternary Essence in the entire city rushed around the place like wild beasts without control. 

Melody's eyes trembled as she saw and felt the entire place changing into an otherworldly place. "W-What is happening? Why does it feel as if the World is about to end?"

Flor took a sip from the teacup and smiled. "Haha…" She looked at Melody and commented. "It's quite interesting, isn't it?"

Melody almost had a breakdown when she heard that comment. "Interesting!? I want to know what is happening, Flor! Why is the Ternary Essence in the entire continent boiling as if it is about to explode!? Also, why is all that ridiculously large amount of Ternary Essence flowing into Liu Shu!?" 

Flor waved her hand, moving a teapot and pouring tea into Melody's empty cup. "Drink a bit first. It is our best-selling recipe of tea made out of my baby's leaves. It's an A Rank beverage that can calm the mind and soothe the soul. Extremely good for moments like this. Oh! And it also gives some and buffs among many others. But, well, those are just secondary effects. The most important thing and what people use it for is to calm one's nerves."

Ignatia at the side also sipped calmly and smiled. "The teacup was made by our best artisans as well. It can enhance the effects of the beverage poured on it. You might even get a small Exp boost. Although it is just a few dozen Experience points, it can amount to something if you drink it daily." 

Melody was baffled and looked around the room. Everyone looked calm and relaxed while the world literally shook from Liu Shu's changes. 'Is this tea that magical?'

Verena added from the side. "One more thing. There's nothing in this tea that could cause dependency. So, you can drink it without worrying. I personally tried not to drink the tea for a few years to see if there were any symptoms, and I didn't feel a single urge to drink during that time."

Melody's face was somewhat strange, but hearing their reassurance, she took a sip. A refreshing and slightly sweet taste spread in her mouth with a generous and pleasant fragrance. Then, as she gulped it down, the liquid seemed to cleanse her throat and stomach, quickly spreading a calming effect through her veins and arteries. Her rapidly beating heart quickly calmed down, and her mind cleared from anxious thoughts without losing any sharpness. 

Her eyes couldn't help but marvel at the beverage. Now, looking outside, Melody could analyze and feel the changes in the surroundings much more clearly. Once she understood on a deeper level, the previous panic was replaced by wonder and awe. "No wonder… Little Liu Shu's must be incredibly high. Moreover, she is connected with the entire city and beyond. Now that she is entering the , she needs to transform the entire continent-spanning root-net."

Harmonixia glanced at her mother with a smile and commented. "Liu Shu is currently A+ Tier. Or, at least, the last time I checked, that was her tier."

Melody exclaimed in surprise. "A+ Tier? Isn't that the limit of normal living creatures?" 

Everyone in the room looked at Melody with curious gazes. Flor asked, confused. "Limit? Is there a limit in tier? From Liu Shu's , it is clear to see that there is an S Tier beyond the A Tier, right?" 

Melody laughed. "S Tier is possible with exceptionally extraordinary natural skills. Meaning, only skills that are born in the S Tier will reach such heights. However, a Living Being can't become an S Tier being or upgrade an A+ Tier skill to the S Tier."

Cinderielle felt strange and asked, confused. "Why not?" 

Melody leaned on the side of the balcony, admiring Liu Shu's all-encompassing presence and powerful strength. "Do you know the names for each tier? Most people call them by the letter because, well, it is the easiest way to refer to them. However, those System Scientists have named them differently."

Flor asked, interested. "I do know the names for a few: for F Tier, for E Tier, for D Tier, and for C Tier. For example, a C Tier skill named can also be called . However, beyond those, I am unaware of the labeling." 

"It is not difficult to say or know." Melody smiled. "For B Tier, they are called skills, materials, etc. Meanwhile, for A Tier, the denominator is ."

"World?" Tempestria asked, surprised.

Melody didn't hide anything and spoke straightforwardly. "From my knowledge, there should not be skills beyond S Tier. I know that the three Major World Trees have one or two S Tier skills. And, these skills are denoted with the label." 

Cinderielle muttered. "It doesn't sound that powerful."

Melody chuckled. "It doesn't until you know what this 'Core' refers to, haha." 

"Oh?" Everyone looked at the woman with shifting blue and purple colored hair curiously. 

Melody didn't keep them guessing. 

" skills are called like such because they can affect the fundamental nature of things. An S Tier skill has the potential not to destroy but to create worlds, stars, and more. They are skills with such high potential that they can affect the reality around them." 

Everyone was silent, their eyes opening with surprise. The Songtree family's matriarch reassured them. "Of course, those are legends and texts passed down from ancient times. For them to exert such power, the user needs to have incredible strength. Therefore, in the hands of , their strength is not much different from A Tier Skills. Even some of the more powerful B Tier Skills can compare to them."

Everyone relaxed slightly and took a sip of the tea. Melody's words were truly shocking. 

Flor looked at Liu Shu and asked the four Sylvans. "Where have you left the four children?"

Cinderielle commented. "They are in the room at the side. Mariane has created a in there so that the aura from the outside doesn't bother them."

"They are… alone?" Flor asked, confused. Those four were not really little darlings that could be easily left alone. Tempestria commented. "Of course not. We've asked the Lignified Town Hall to keep an eye on them." 

Even then, the Wind Sylvan stood up and walked to the room on the side. Once she opened the room, the others saw the four children playing around with nothing too strange happening.

Dewna is the oldest and had the most strength with her vines, so she was raising the other three while they desperately tried to escape the Alraune's clutches. Dewna grinned, the smile strangely seductive due to her nature, and spoke with a clear and pleasant voice. "Haha~. No escape! Dewna will squeeze little sisters and brothers until surrender!" 

The speech was not perfect, and the wording could certainly improve significantly. Nevertheless, the meaning was nothing more than that her little brothers couldn't escape her clutches. There were no strange intentions behind her words. 

Tempestria walked inside, and Sylvia's big eyes lit up. "Ma! Help Sylvia!"

As a Sylphaith, the girl's voice was ethereal. They were an Alraune species that attracted prey with sound and illusions while using Death and Wind Aether mana to protect themselves. Their affinity made them stand out in their voice department. 

Nevertheless, since the Sylphaith were primarily carrion species, they only hunted when they were very hungry. Otherwise, they were very gentle and harmless if, well, you disregarded their naturally poisonous nature.

Tempestria naturally adored her child, so she didn't deny her request and approached. "Dewna love, can you give Sylvia to Mom?" 

Dewna was as sweet as honey with her elders, so she smiled like a little sun and nodded. "Yes!" 

Tempestria hugged Sylvia and looked into her large, purple eyes. "There~. You are safe now in Mom's arms."

Sylvia opened her stomach mouth, and a large slimy tongue licked Tempestria's navel with love. The slightly poisonous nature of her saliva was completely ineffective on Tempestria. "I love you too, baby." Tempestria laughed and looked at the other three. "Come, the grandmas and aunts want to play with you." 

Their flower-like lower half grew tendrils as they rose above the ground and began to walk. For short distances, they would bounce to move. But if they wanted to move long distances, they could use strong vines or tendrils to move their bodies. Only Pyara, the youngest by far, had some trouble moving around.

Even then, Tempestria didn't help besides keeping an eye on her so that she wouldn't hurt herself too badly. 

Dewna quickly rushed into Verdantia's arms, and Eluan walked calmly toward Harmonixia. At the same time, Cinderielle stood up and moved forward to pick up Pyara. 

Melody approached with three fruits and one piece of raw meat and gave it to them. 

Dewna, Eluan, and Pyara could eat fruits and meat without problem. However, being a carrion species, Sylvia preferred meat and dying plant matter. Her taste buds and digestive system were slightly different, but that didn't bother anyone. 

Seeing her daughter place the piece of meat in her belly-mouth and munching happily, Tempestria kissed her baby's forehead. "Delicious?" 

Sylvia nodded her head up and down while her mouth kept busily triturating the meat inside. 

Ignatia spoke up curiously. "Speaking of which, Liu Shu should be about to deliver another little one, right?" 

"That should be the case, unless the baby is a Sylvan," Flor answered calmly. There have been a lot of children already, so her excitement was much more soothed. Not that it had disappeared, mind you. It just changed from a "passionate" excitement to a "calm and accepting" excitement. 

Melody asked while pampering her grandson. "Whose baby is it this time?"

Harmonixia answered with an embarrassed cough. "We… don't know."

"Oh." Melody blinked, and then a wide grin spread on her lips. "It looks like you all have fun together~. I don't judge, though. More chances for a baby that way, which is good. Sigh, my daughter-in-law's fruit-bearing capabilities are truly extraordinary."

"I-It's not like that, stupid Mom! Also, don't say strange things!"

The embarrassed scream of the Sound Sylvan echoed in the room, pushing everyone except our four embarrassed Sylvans into a fit of laughter.
