Jian Yufei had just lain down, but upon hearing his words, she propped herself up again.
Putting on her shoes, Jian Yufei got out of bed and walked to the window, where she also caught sight of the scene in the garden.
"Mommy, should I go and find out what they're talking about?" Ansel asked, tilting his head up to look at her.
Jian Yufei withdrew her gaze and shook her head. "No need. Your daddy must be asking Mo Lan for help with something. Let's not go bothering them."
"What kind of thing could Daddy be asking Aunt Mo Lan for?"
"I'm guessing it's something to do with Qi Ruigang." Jian Yufei wasn't naive. Ruan Tianling had been keeping Qi Ruigang close by throughout the journey, clearly for some purpose.
Ansel nodded in understanding. "That must be it."
Jian Yufei glanced at them again, her eyes flickering slightly as she wondered what Ruan Tianling was keeping from her.
