In the main house living room, the Old Madam and Bei Qingyue sat on the sofa, discussing the assassination attempt on the old man.
Bei Qingyue was originally out of town, but rushed back upon hearing about the attack on her father. She had just arrived.
"Mom, who on earth has such audacity?"
The Old Madam said slowly, "Right now, we suspect that person named Guisu. He's Miss Sima's subordinate, but there's no real evidence."
"Did anyone check the surveillance footage?"
"We checked it early on, but the person is either too familiar with our security system or is exceptionally skilled. Nothing was captured on the footage."
A layer of confusion fell over Bei Qingyue's face as she spoke softly, "This Guisu is Miss Sima's man. Why would he want to assassinate Dad?"
The Old Madam sighed and said, "That's what I can't figure out either. He even injured Miss Sima. I feel there's something fishy about this."
As they were speaking, Nangong Yun hurriedly came in from the yard.
