Swoosh! Thud!
A figure dragged its body through the forest, swaying around, slamming into the trees.
"Huff! Hufff!"
The figure breathed heavily, gasping for air.
"Mother...father..." Alden muttered as he dragged his body, hunched forward, and barely even walking, his hands swaying around.
Intense pain surged through his body, his tendons and joints burned in pain, but he didn't stop. Droplets of blood leaked from the corners of his mouth, a result of tiny blood vessels rupturing inside him.
Through blurry vision, he continued persevering forward, pushing his broken body and moving with pure will.
"I... can't stop..." Alden continued muttering, as if in a trance.
Had it been under normal circumstances and had he thought things logically, he would have known the futility of his actions. Even running at his full speed would take him more than 20 hours to arrive at the third city.
But currently, he cared more about action than logic.
