"I would rather die right now than sit here and listen to a history lesson." Tomas says, and kicks his foot against the leg of the chair. "This is the dumbest thing I've ever had to do."
"So you've done some dumb things." Valentine chirps. "Don't be shy."
"Hey, fuck you!"
"Language." Roland rumbles, and just that's enough for the squabbling to cease. Or, well, for Tomas to sulk silently and for Valentine to chuckle.
"Alright. So we trade you a story for a location." Lucas says, leaning forward. "I don't have a problem with that."
I sigh and stand. "Tomas is an idiot, but I do have a child with me. Do what you must, but I'm going to take her back for food." I say, and gently tug May's arm. "Let's go back to the inn, bug."
May nods, her eyes still wide with curiosity, and she follows me without protest.
