I snort, but smile. "So. You're ready for a day out, are you?"
She nods. "Yeah! I'm better! We're gonna have a lot of fun today!" She beams at me. "We're gonna play lots and lots and lots! And. And. And eat good food. And. And-"
"Is that so? And you said Lucas promised you this when you got better?"
She nods. "Mhm! I told Princey that. And. And he said okay!" She giggles. "So we're gonna do it! You're coming, too!"
"I am?"
She nods. "Yup!"
Well.
She certainly seems to have a lot of energy. I suppose that's a good sign. Her fever's gone, and her strength has mostly returned. The cough is almost gone, and I don't think she's had a runny nose or other symptoms in at least a day. Maybe two, even. I'm not entirely certain on that one. I've been rather tired.
But...it seems that May is on the mend.
And I'm glad.
Though, really, if Lucas signed checks with this girl, he ought to be the one to cash them.
