Huggesen was the adopted son of the Chieftain of the Pī zhǎo Clan, a Blood Descendant of the King of Bone Biting, and was designated long ago as the successor of the Chieftain.
Meanwhile, Nanaque Black-eye was the next Chieftain of the Black Eye Clan, but the Black Eye Clan was a vassal of the Whip-tail Clan. Logically, the two were worlds apart in terms of status and the factions they belonged to.
Their union cannot be described as the Cinderella and Prince Charming of the Society of Jackal people, but can certainly be compared to a "Romeo and Juliet" story.
In fact, their first meeting a few years ago was not pleasant. It was during a border conflict between the Whip-tail Clan and the Pī zhǎo Clan, where Huggesen led his army to easily defeat the elite forces of the Whip-tail Clan, even killing a Military Governor and seizing a large number of Throne Wolves as war trophies.
That was a glorious victory.
