"Why are you stopping?" Alaric asked, glancing at Belialthorn who had tilted his head up as if he was hearing something far away.
And it was, it was low at first but it was gaining in volume. It was a scream and it was a terrible one. The others could hear it too now, the floor shook and the tunnel shuddered with it.
Then they saw the scream. A force of air, a terrible echo ripping and twisting towards them. It gave them little time but Belialthorn shouted. "Prepare!". Before the storm of screams hit them with the force of twenty kicking horses.
It slammed them back, knocking them against the smooth wall as the scream force continued. It was a terrible sound that twisted their head. It sounded like metal tearing, mixed with the wailing of thousands.
Belialthorn opened his mouth to shout but the scream tore the sound from his mouth and all he could do was hold the floor in hopes of not blasting out of the tunnel.
