Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Dream? Nah

Floating far up in the cosmos, hundreds of regal, frightening, and holy-looking figures surrounded a lone figure in the vast dark expanse of the universe.

Kings, queens, monarchs, and leaders of their respective races, kingdoms, and empires that oozed the aura of command, authority, and respect encircled a single individual with mixed expressions of wariness, guilt, and serious faces.

A leading imposing figure, garbed with a golden robe and a crown floating above his head, spoke with a condescending tone of voice.

"For the greater good of our universe, please surrender yourself, as your existence upsets the balance of our cosmos."

Saying so in a rightful tone, he pointed his finger towards the lone white-haired figure with the aura of both darkness that oozes of miasma and holy air that swirls with it, seemingly blending, giving off a feeling of incongruity for those that have holy divinities and fear for those that dabbled in the darkness divinity.

Wearing a pair of hoop earrings on his ears, he dons crimson armour, greaves, an obsidian cape swaying with his every move, and a Tachi sword accentuated with a golden pattern in the surrounding of the sheath on his left waist that emits death and a terrifying aura that gives chills to those gods that are currently surrounding him.

Opening his mouth, the white-haired figure exhaled a cold vapour and spoke,

"Just get on with it, and stop spouting hypocritical speech, as we all know there are others more dangerous than me that loomed in our cosmos, and that's not the reason you all gathered here." Opening the sheath of his Tachi, the blade glimmered in crimson-gold light, showing a crimson dragon coiling around the dark blade.

"You gods just want to get rid of me, as I'm getting more and more faith from your gods' devotees, and why wouldn't I?" asks the white-haired figure in a defiant tone.

Looking at the faces of the gods gathered transform to annoyance, gloom, and embarrassment, he continued,

"I took the mantle of the past hero king, provided security for the masses, and took the lead in fighting against the Outer Gods with my fellow brave heroes that you lot feared.

Where were you 'Almighty' Gods when the Outer Gods' lackeys, which are the abyss creatures, descended to our planets? Our lands? You guys scrambled and hid under your pantheon! Leaving us to fend for ourselves, fighting, watching one by one of our families, friends, and loved ones die from those wretched creatures. Only my goddess, Bastet, helped. Yet even she perished because you fuckers are afraid to fight, to lift your fat arses from your safe havens! "Clearly becoming emotional," he yelled.

"Now that I don't have anything more that I cherish, you come and look for me? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Laughing darkly with rightful indignation, I pointed the blade of my Tachi towards the gods.

"Snow Knight, surrender, and I can promise you a painless death," said Erebus, the God of Darkness, in a sombre tone.

Glancing at the darkened blade of my Tachi, I asked, "Do you gods see this dark blade?"

Looking at my blade, the gods' faces looked at it dismissively, thinking it's just a blade.

Speaking, I explained,

"It's from the blood of one of the Outer Gods who tried to invade 'our' cosmos."

*Swooosh

With a quick movement, I appeared in front of one of the gods, brandishing my weapon and plunging my blade in the heart of one of the still shocked gods.

"Y-You!" Looking at the blade sinking in his flesh, the God of Light, Aether, felt his divinity slowly draining and being absorbed by the dark blade emitting a black miasma, horrifying him to no end.

Pulling my blade out from the sorry excuse of a god, his divinity slips out of his body, making his form dissipate in modes of light, essentially killing the god.

"Y-You've managed to hurt an Outer God?!" Appalled, the God of Trickery, Loki, cried out.

Making the already astonished and startled gods be more vigilant.

"Heh, I killed an Outer God. But at what cost? My goddess and lover dying in my arms just to help me kill a single Outer God." I smiled deprecatingly.

"J-Just an Outer God?"

"M-Monster!"

"Everyone attack!"

Finally realising the danger that the Crimson Armour-clad Hero King possesses, one of the more level-headed gods commanded to immediately attack.

"Mirage Beam!"

"Dark Arrow!"

"Thunder Strike!"

"Aphrodisiac Bomb!"

Hundreds of Divine skills that deal damage, debuffs, and disarray bombarded the lone white-haired figure.

"D-Did we get him?" said a pink-haired goddess, panting.

"N-No look!"

One god pointing at the dissipating cloud of smoke from their attacks, the gods looked over and saw the white-haired figure emerge unscathed.

"I-Impossible!" Taking a step back, one god muttered.

"Surprised? This is the power I attained after absorbing the Outer God," smiling coldly, the Hero King asked.

Moving in a slow manner, his aura exploded in a crimson hue, making the 1000 km surrounding the dark expanse of the cosmos paint in a crimson colour. Waving his Otachi, he muttered in a chilling tone,

"Devils Cry, Purgatory!"

Hundreds of crimson-gold slashes emerged, attacking the gods aside from a single figure.

Those gods that made contact with the slash had their divinities drained, making hundreds of the gods get sucked by the slash, erasing their existence.

Looking at the scrambling gods fending themselves from my attack, I focused my attention on a specific spot where I actively avoided striking.

A tall, dark-haired voluptuous figure, with a pair of horns, a seductive body, a heart shaped tail attached to her bountiful buttocks, demon goddess stood still, looking at me with guilt, anger, desperation, and possessiveness.

"Lilith." Staring at her face with a betrayed face, I called out her name.

"Why? After saving your race from these self-righteous bastards. Why didn't you help us at the war? Why are you helping them?" Asking in a heavy tone, I sought her answers.

"I helped you back then, in your shadows, saving you whenever you needed. Whenever you were grieving and losing focus at the fight, I was behind you. I always wanted you for myself, or at least to have a bit of you with me," she said sadly, starting with a slow voice.

"But you only looked at that bitch, Bastet, never giving me a chance to be with you. I-I want you, Shiro." Tearing up, calling out the Hero King's name, she continued.

"I was promised that after this is all over, I will be able to gain your soul spark, your essence. You'd be finally mine." With a glint, a heart shape emerged in her eyes and glowed in pink, saying in a possessive and seductive tone.

"But my heart is only for Bastet," the Hero King bitterly said.

"That's why, after I obtain your soul, I'll mould you and finally be eternally mine," said Lilith in a longing tone.

While the Hero King and Lilith are conversing. Odin gave a silent signal to Kronos, Erebus, and the Primordial Gods, the strongest of the gods of their respective pantheons, to launch their strongest attacks on the distracted Hero King, trying to kill him once and for all.

With the combined power of the Primordial Gods, the cosmos trembled, and the direction of their attacks made the planets that are in the same path explode, making hundreds of supernovae.

"N-No, what did you all do?!" Shrieking, Lilith shouted in a heart-wrenching manner, making the surroundings of her explode with demonic aura.

"We did what had to be done." Looking at the now slowly dissipating ashes of the Hero King, Odin said in a sombre tone.

"With Kronos's Divinity of Time and the power of all of us Primordial Gods, we finally vanquished that monster," Erebus said in an eerie voice.

Staring at the darkness, slowly his body turned to ashes, and the Hero King muttered in a longing tone, "I will finally see you, Bestat." With a single tear falling down from his cheeks, the Hero King, the One Who Survived the Cataclysm, and the Saviour of the Mortals finally succumbed to death.

[Line Break]

"Wake up—"

"Aki-kun, wake up!"

Opening my eyes, I saw Kushida-san looking at my face with worry.

"Did you have a bad dream, Yuuki-kun?" With care in her tone, Horikita-san asked.

Rubbing my face with some trace of tears, I wiped it and looked at the group of 4 staring at me. I reassured them with a gentle smile.

"Nah, it's just a dream."
