Chapter 1 - Shadows of Heresy

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries, The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a dark space, there sits a man; the man is old and sits upon a stone throne. The man is tapping his finger against the cold stone of the throne. All of a sudden, a door slowly opens up, revealing a little light to the dark chamber. Looking back at the old man, you start to see more of the man; he has a robotic eye that glows an ominous red. Upon closer inspection, he seems to have prosthetic arms made of an unknown metal. Looking back at the door, a man who is the size of three men and is dressed in golden armor walks up to the old man.

"It is an honor to see you again, Lord Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn," says the old man as he gets up. Looking back at the giant, now known as Gregor Eisenhorn, you see his face; he's bald with a modification on the side of his head. You do not know the purpose of the thing, but, well, looking. Gregor Eisenhorn speaks for the first time since entering the room.

"I've been told that there is a disease that has sprouted from your planet, Castinus van der Bale. If I didn't think any better, I would think that you would be a heretic. This is not the first time such a thing has happened, and I would hate to kill such an important person as well," said mockingly.

The old man, now known as Castinus van der Bale, sweated a little.

"Please forgive me, my lord. I do not know where these heretics are coming from..." But before he could finish, he was interrupted by the Inquisitor.

"I do not wish to hear your cries, Castinus, nor do I wish to be here again, but here I am, so stop before my men kill you because I will not stop them."

".yy..e.ss. Of course, my lord," stuttered Castinus.

"Now tell me where these heretics are," said the Inquisitor.

"Yes, of course, my lord," quickly said Castinus.

"These heretics are living under the northern hive city and are killing loyal citizens. Please get rid of these vermin, my lord," said Castinus.

"Yes, of course. These heretics will not live to see another year," said the Inquisitor.

"Thank you, my lord. May the Emperor protect," said Castinus.

The Inquisitor walks out of the room, the door slowly closing behind him, casting Castinus in darkness once again. Castinus now stumbles back onto the throne and takes a deep breath. "By the Emperor," said Castinus, "damn those heretics for making that man come here."

 Scene change

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inside a Valkyrie flying over a hive city, there are four people inside looking around. You see a man wearing green-like armor with a bolter in his hand. Next to him, you see a man in a black robe that covers him and two other people wearing the same armor as the first man.

"Commander Clovis, do we have everything we need?" said a young, nervous-looking guardsman.

"Yes, we have everything. There is no need to be nervous," said Commander Clovis as he gave out a sigh.

"Hahaha," one of the other guardsmen, an older man with scars on his face, laughed at the younger guardsman. "You'll be fine, boy. You should loosen up more. Hahaha," laughed the older man as he slapped the back of the younger guardsman.

"Thank you, Balphus," said the younger guardsman as he gave a sheepish smile.

"It's fine, boy. We are just surveying the lower layers of the hive city. All that's down there is sewers, rats, and homeless people. Nothing to be afraid of," said Balphus.

"He's right, you know," said the man in the dark robes. "Besides, you have me, the greatest Psyker in the whole garrison. Hehehe," laughed the man in dark robes.

"Get out of your head, Arkhan," said Balphus.

"Oh, shut your trap, Balphus, you drunk. So, what did you say your name was again?" said Arkhan to the younger guardsman.

"It's Hann," said the younger guardsman.

"Will you stop forgetting the boy's name already?" Arkhan said Commander Clovis. "Haha, sorry, it's so easy to forget," said Arkhan.

As Commander Clovis was going to say something else, the Valkyrie landed. "Are you all ready?" said Clovis. Two of the three nodded their heads well, one slowly nodded their head, as the door was slowly opening.

"The four of them slowly step out of the Valkyrie with their bolters aimed, and Arkhan has his powers ready. All four of them look around slowly for any enemies as they walk forward.

'Clear,' said Clovis. They all keep their guard up but lower their bolters a little.

'This place looks like a dump,' said Arkhan.

'And smells like one,' added Balphus.

As this was going on, the Valkyrie left, leaving the team on their own and officially starting their mission."
