Yuno had said his line about protecting his friends and he began to fight this Diamond Kingdom mage that had shown up and injured Mimosa so much.
The girl in question, was currently using her Dream Healing Flower Cradle to heal her Injuries and was unable to help Yuno and Klaus against the mage.
They had been struggling as this Diamond mage seemed way too strong, stronger than he should be. Yuno was broken and bruised as he saw a giant diamond greatsword getting ready to fall on him.
*Slash*
All the sudden the blade was slashed in half at the timely intervention of Asta, I had to actually throw him at the blade to get him there quicker.
After Asta had taken care of the sword, Noelle, Luck and I also joined the group. Noelle ran towards Mimosa to check on her and I stood with Luck next to Asta and Yuno.
"Hey Yuno, long time no see." I said with a grin at his battered body then cast a healing spell on him.
Yuno groaned as his wounds were healing but merely nodded at my words.
My healing spell was good but could only heal surface Injuries unless it was enhanced with infinity.
"Now, I'll take care of this Diamond Kingdom stooge" I said as I looked at the mage who still seemed emotionless.
Luck and Asta had something to say about that as they disagreed vehemently Luck for saying that I was keeping a powerful enemy all to myself just like me fighting Lotus and Asta because he was worried that I'd get hurt as this mage was even able to hurt Yuno.
"It's fine. How about this, Asta, if I start to lose against him you take over and Luck, I'll let you fight the next big bad we face." I explained to which Asta nodded and Luck seemed to begrudgingly agree as well.
"So, I heard from Lotus that you were the secret weapon of the Diamond Kingdom? Well, I am the secret weapon of the Black Bulls, let's see who wins." I said with a grin as my grimoire was floating in the air next to me.
The Diamond Kingdom mage who was named Mars didn't respond to my words and attacked immediately.
This would be my first big fight with a halfway decent opponent. It was a bad match-up for Lotus to fight me as after my transformation with the legacy of the Sanguine Emperor my magical signature was muted to almost the level of Asta as he has no magical signal at all due to not even having mana in the first place to emit any signal.
This made Lotus' ability to sense everything in his smoke to be practically useless and by constantly running at my full speed with my enhanced body, it made it very hard for him to "see" me.
But with this guy, I will be able to experiment with my magic. He can create Diamond constructs so I have to take him out using more powerful spells as he not only has powerful defense, but he can heal with Fana's magic as well.
I had just blocked a giant diamond spear with a water barrier and sent a large wind slash at Mars that actually managed to cut his cheek when an extremely enticing scent flowed through the air to reach me.
'What smells so good? Where's the smell coming from?' I thought to myself until my enhanced senses told me the reason.
I followed the scent to the blood leaking from Mars' cheek.
I could feel my mouth begin to hurt and I quickly created a wind barrier, lightning barrier, and force barrier to hide my body from view.
My set of four fangs were now in full view and my eyes were glowing red, I could smell the blood and.....I wanted it.
But why is this happening now, I had fought Lotus when he was bleeding and could smell the blood of Luck and Yuno as well when they were injured, why didn't I have any reaction then?
I started to take deep breaths to get my urges under control, my fangs starting to retract as I thought about why this happened.
I had two theories. One, my body still needed time to fully bond with the legacy so it simply only fully bonded to me now. Two, that part of the legacy won't activate until I come across any blood that the legacy deems powerful.
I'm inclined to believe it's the former rather than the latter, but it could be a combination of the two.
"This is getting tedious. If you won't fight, I will set my sights back on our objective and take out the obstacles in the way of the treasure hall." Mars said emotionlessly which i think is the most he'd said even including the first meeting in the anime.
I had already gotten my urges under control so I dispelled the barriers and looked at Mars.
"I think I've wasted enough time." I said as I prepared to cast a powerful spell.
Taking inspiration from a powerful electokinesis user from my past life, I cast one of my more powerful lightning spells.
{Storm Magic:Ionic Storm}
Right after I finished casting my magic, a massive dark cloud formed in the air above everyone and it was crackling with sparks of lightning. And within a moment, a huge field of lightning appeared striking both Mars and all his surroundings. The smell of the burning flesh thankfully overtaking the small of blood.
Whenever Mars tried to dodge, he'd end up being struck by another lightning bolt eventually I saw him become encased in a giant diamond Golem protecting him from the lighting and I saw flames being generated from him and his injuries were healing in real time, his diamond greatsword above his head protecting him from the lightning.
The watching mages had astonished looks at both my magic and the fact that the Diamond Mage has two magic attributes.
This was why the Magic Captains were so shocked when they thought I had multiple magic attributes as it had never happened before.
It was different than my magic as my attribute was Storm so using all aspects of a storm was insanely powerful but at least all the aspects seemed related to a Storm.
His two attributes are entirely different. Diamond magic and Flame magic, two opposing magics and they are being used by one person.
The surrounding mages had started to shout out their shock and I simply continued to watch as I realized that I'd need something more powerful to take care of this guy.
I don't want to rely on Infinity or the legacy so I'll do what I can to take him out.
I knew Mars wasn't truly a bad guy, just brainwashed and broken by the trauma of having had to kill his childhood best friend, so I had no plans to kill him.
I would just knock him out.
I would keep the magic active for 2 more minutes and I need to think about a spell to use.
The spell stopped, the storm cloud fading and everyone was met with the sight of a diamond Golem glowing orange with flames.
Mars actually seemed to have emotions showing now as he seemed very pissed.
This was part of the reason I'd attacked him like I did as getting him to feel emotion and use Fana's magic was the first step to unlock his buried memories and anger was the easiest emotion to bring out.
"You are simply a stepping stone to my eventual triumph. You are simply a pebble that falls on the wayside!" Mars said angrily.
"Well this pebble is going to kick you off your high horse." I said as I finally cast my magic.
{Storm Magic: Force Impact}
I had gathered so much mana imbued with the force aspect of my magic on my hand until not only did it glow silver, but it seemed to create a field of distortion in the air around my hand as I also channeled wind and lightning into my body, causing a small crackling storm cloud around my body as lightning entered my body and a gentle breeze was felt by everyone and then I launched myself at Mars.
*WOOSH*
*BOOM*
*CRASH*
After my punch impacted Mars' face there was a short moment of silence after Mars went flying from where he was into the far wall.
After the silence there was a sound that resembled both a sonic boom and a clap of thunder at the same time and he was sent flying into the wall causing a huge cloud of dust to appear.
After the dust cleared the surrounding mages saw the aftermath of my spell.
Not only was Mars lodged into the wall, his Golem had broken and he was inside the shattered Golem that was embedded into the wall and he was clearly out cold and a flame had flickered out and they surmised that he tried to heal himself as soon as he was hit and it most likely saved his life as it seems I put too much force into the attack.
All the mages then looked at me standing nonchalantly off to the side but when they looked at me I winced.
"I didn't mean to hit him that hard, I just wanted to make sure he couldn't heal." I said actually rubbing the back of my head.
I had never understood why people in anime and Manga did that and from what I just experienced it seems that I was so flustered that I didn't know where to put my hands so I rubbed my head to give them something to do.
I really didn't mean to hit him that hard, and now I have shown a lot more power than I wanted to.
"YEAH THAT'S THE BLACK BULLS SECRET WEAPON!" Asta shouted in excitement.
I walked over to the mages and I saw Klaus glaring at me.
He seemed to have sensed my confusion and walked closer to me seemingly having realized exactly who I was as I did look different.
"You're the mage who refused Captain Vaungence's invitation and joined the Black Bulls instead." He accused which I just nodded knowing that he practically worshipped Vaungence and his Noble superiority complex while currently annoying would eventually fade.
"While you may be a filthy commoner, you were chosen by a four leaf clover grimoire like Yuno and were invited by Captain Vaungence. He must have seen something in you, I suppose your power is passable." Klaus said and I could sense that while he definitely didn't like me as it seemed like I snubbed Captain Vaungence, my overwhelming power had gained some respect.
"Well, how could I not join the Black Bulls, someone had to watch over this walking disaster." I said placing my hand on Asta's head.
"Yeah he joined to be with the future Wizard King!" Asta said excitedly.
Yuno sighed in resignation as Asta didn't even realize he'd been insulted and then began arguing with Klaus as Klaus had mentioned that I had chosen the Black Bulls before Asta.
Asta was simply shouting about how I simply knew that Captain Yami would choose him and was being proactive.
I smiled at the situation and turned to look at the large door to the treasure room that had actually been dented from the force of my punch.
Evidently the punch had created a shockwave which knocked over the mages, damaged the door, and Noelle even had to protect Mimosa.
Seeing the door and the still arguing duo of Klaus and Asta I sighed wistfully and prepared to get some treasures but I don't think I'll really get anything unlike Asta and Yuno.
