I had just finished taking a shower.
The warm water had done its job.
It washed away the sweat, the dust, and some of the lingering tension that had been stuck to me the entire day like an annoying second skin.
For a while, I had just stood there under the stream, letting the water hit the back of my neck and shoulders, feeling it run down my spine. It felt good.
It was very simple, quiet, and almost therapeutic.
Honestly, that shower might have been exactly what I needed.
Not some grand solution to my problems or anything dramatic like that. Just… a moment to breathe. A reset button.
By the time I stepped out and dried off, my mind felt a little clearer.
At least, that was what I thought.
When I walked back to my room and approached the bed, I immediately noticed that I wasn't alone.
Lilia was sitting right at the edge of the bed.
