Early the next morning, before dawn, Liu Banxia got up and went directly to the patient's room.
"Teacher Liu, there has been no change in the oxygen saturation, and defecation occurred once last night. There has been some coughing, which has become more frequent, and the body temperature has dropped by 0.5 degrees," Xu Yino, who had been keeping watch here, quickly reported.
Liu Banxia nodded. "You rest for a while. Later, I will arrange for the child to have a colonoscopy."
"Teacher Liu, should I stay on a bit longer?" Xu Yino asked tentatively.
"You take a nap first. When it's time for the colonoscopy, I'll call you," Liu Banxia said.
Without any delay, Xu Yino climbed onto an empty bed nearby. He really needed to rest and regain his strength; these past few hours had been relentless and not easy to endure.
"Dr. Liu, thank you and Dr. Xu," the patient's father said softly.
"Well, it's nothing. The key is for us to diagnose the child's illness," Liu Banxia said.
