Si Yan also spotted Yu Jingrong and noticed something was off with Ning Lue. He quickly stepped forward and said, "Ning Lue, what's wrong with you? Why are you grinning so shamelessly? Don't forget, she's someone else's wife."
"I know, you're so annoying!" Ning Lue responded irritably to Si Yan, but he couldn't hide the smile on his face no matter how hard he tried.
His sudden shift in demeanor left Si Yan almost dumbfounded, his face contorted into a look of "Oh heavens, save me," as he let out a wail: "Good grief, Ning Lue, don't tell me you've actually fallen for her, and not just in… a casual way either!"
Si Yan was uneasy. He was convinced now—Ning Lue had fallen hard. This wasn't good at all. He prayed Ning Lue wouldn't take action.
Ning Lue didn't deny it, nor did he admit it. He simply smiled and said, "Hey, don't you think she and I share an extraordinary connection? We keep bumping into each other by coincidence!"
