Even Changyu and Mingda found a chance to come and watch the excitement. Changyu reached out to open the box in front of the statue of Laozi, but Manbao stopped her with a hand.
Manbao said, "It's not consecrated yet, you're not allowed to look."
Mingda was very curious, "What's inside that you value so much and even have it consecrated?"
Manbao chuckled and was about to answer when Changyu quickly interjected, "I know, inside is your birthday gift."
She then pouted a bit, "You didn't go to such great lengths for my gift last year."
Manbao said, "Do you know what it means when they say 'a light gift carries deep affection'?"
Changyu asked, "So, does that mean for Mingda, the gift is heavy, but the affection is light?"
