The Emperor was having a meal with the Empress, and an attendant brought over some medicine.
The Emperor obediently drank it all in one go, then reached for a piece of candy. After taking the medicine, he couldn't help but think of Zhou Man, and burst out laughing. He mentioned what Zhou Man had said while recommending Yang Heshu, amused, "No wonder she gets along with Dalang so well, she's really quite narcissistic. Praising Yang Heshu, she had to include herself and Bai Shan in the accolades."
The Empress also laughed.
"However, she indeed has a pure heart and doesn't hide her intentions for becoming an official," the Emperor slightly restrained his laughter, shaking his head, "She thinks she's not as good as Yang Heshu, but I don't think she's much worse. Although she didn't say anything like wishing for the peace of all people, her desire to establish medical offices across the land is truly benevolent."
