After a moment, she put the jade back into the brocade box and reluctantly pushed it in front of Emily Yorke, "Find a time to return this. We can't just take someone else's gift for nothing."
"Granny, this was something Brother Chapman specially bought for you. Returning it would disregard his filial piety, wouldn't it? We can't send it back." Mia Moreland clutched the brocade box, "If you don't want it now, just leave it in my room. When you agree to me being with Brother Chapman, you can take it back."
As naive as Mia Moreland was, she knew very well what it meant to return the gift - Brother Chapman would be heartbroken.
"Anyway, I'm going to marry Brother Chapman and no one else. If you want me to be unmarried in my thirties, keep opposing us."
With that, Mia Moreland carried the brocade box upstairs.
"This girl..." Madam Moreland glared at Mia Moreland's back. Really, each of the grandkids is more stubborn than the last.
