"You're crazy!" Mia Moreland raised her voice.
She hadn't expected this. She thought once Lynette Moreland and Max Davies were together, they'd forget about Ann Chapman. Who knew Lynette had this plan in mind?
"Mia, why are you yelling?" Emily Yorke heard the commotion upstairs and quickly came up.
"Mom, sis... she..." Mia Moreland didn't know how to say it. Lynette glanced at her and returned to her room.
"Alright, alright, your sister's in a bad mood, just give her some space." Emily didn't know what had happened, but seeing Mia's face flushed with anger, she could guess Lynette must have said something.
Mia, coaxed by Emily, returned to her room, growing angrier the more she thought about it, tossing and turning all night, worried that Lynette would follow through.
In the stillness of the night, she got up, put on a coat, and knocked on Lynette's door.
Mia couldn't sleep, and neither could Lynette. She opened the door to let Mia in. "What do you want?"
