In the delivery room.
Grace Adams's condition didn't allow for anesthesia; wave after wave of pain gradually brought her back to her senses.
Realizing her situation, her already pale face turned even paler.
"The child…" The child, hers and Benjamin's, must be alright. Fear surged within her, and she instinctively moved her body, attempting to lift her head to glance at her belly.
"Hold her down! Don't let her move!" The lead surgeon was in the middle of making an incision, startled by her sudden movement. Fortunately, he withdrew his hand in time; otherwise, it could have injured the fetus.
"The child…" Grace Adams didn't really have much strength; her limbs were bound to the operating table. But any slight error during surgery could lead to irreversible mistakes. A nurse held her shoulders and gently comforted her, "Don't get excited; the doctor is saving your child. The child's situation is very bad. If you want him to live, you must remain calm…"
"Ben…Ben…the child…"
