Grace Adams, following Benjamin Moreland's instructions, dialed the ambulance with trembling hands, incoherently relaying the address and situation to the other side.
"The ambulance will be here soon. Hold on, you have to hold on..." Grace didn't dare move Benjamin, letting him lie on the ground. Her tears kept flowing down as she clutched a clean towel, pressing tightly on his wound.
Besides that, she didn't know what else she could do.
Benjamin's consciousness was gradually fading, his vision intermittently going dark. He was so tired, he wanted to sleep, but the tear-streaked face of his wife made him afraid to drift away.
"Don't cry." His hand weakly rested on Grace's hand, his voice so faint it could only produce a whisper, "Don't cry..."
"Why isn't anybody here yet? Doctor! Please come save my husband..." From the moment she made the call, only two or three minutes had passed, but to Grace, it felt as if an eternity dragged on.
