Outside the door, neon lights glimmered, inside, warmth filled the air.
Benjamin Moreland glanced at Grace Adams for a moment, got up, slipped his cigarette pack into his pants pocket, and walked over to stand in front of her.
"You're fifty, not a five-year-old child; you should know how to restrain your own behavior." Grace looked up at him, "I've already told you everything that can be said, what exactly do you want to do?"
Benjamin acted as if he hadn't heard her words, reached his right hand into his pocket, and pulled out a diamond ring, capturing Grace's gaze.
The heart-shaped diamond refracted dazzling light under the lamp.
Without a word, Benjamin lifted her right hand and slipped the diamond ring onto her ring finger.
It fit perfectly.
Grace looked at the ring complementing her hand, watched Benjamin bow and kiss the back of her hand lightly, a gentle touch that vanished quickly.
