Ann Chapman casually flicked her cigarette butt onto the ground and lightly crushed it underfoot. "You sit in the back with Mia."
Lynette Moreland paused her motion of opening the car door. She turned her head and smiled, "Why?"
Ann Chapman didn't answer, only said, "Either you head back by yourself, or take a cab from here. It's a busy area, taxis are convenient."
Her tone was informing, not negotiating.
Lynette Moreland bit her lip hard, stomped her foot, and got into the back seat.
Twenty minutes later, the Golden Tiandy pulled up outside the Moreland family estate entrance.
Mia Moreland and Lynette Moreland simultaneously reached for the car doors on both sides.
"Lynette, I need to talk to you about something. Stay for a bit before getting out."
