At this moment, Helen Melendy's phone rang. She took a look at it and said to Harry Hall:
"It's my mom calling, I'll step outside to take it."
"Alright, be careful."
Helen Melendy no longer needed assistance while walking, although her steps were still slow. Harry Hall, however, couldn't help but remind her.
Helen's words, "my mom," made Shannon Richards' eyebrows twitch slightly as she naturally thought of Edward Smith's mother.
She hesitated for a moment, looked at Harry Hall, and tentatively asked:
"By the way, cousin, I ran into your wife and Madam Smith at the mall the day before yesterday. Madam Smith mentioned she's your wife's mother, what's going on? Wasn't your wife's family already..."
Shannon Richards carefully considered her tone and choice of words to make her probing seem less obvious.
Harry Hall's eyes narrowed subtly as he glanced at her sideways.
