Having found someone as exceptionally talented as Leo Hall, Edward Smith possessed a feeling of "I am the best in the world." Everyone else seemed foolish to him, and he couldn't be bothered to argue about it.

He glanced towards Harry Hall, and then his gaze briefly swept over Adam Jones and his wife, furrowing his brow slightly as if something came to mind.
Pulling his gaze back, he was about to walk away when a face suddenly appeared before him, abruptly halting his steps.
His gaze returned to Elly Campbell and her husband and then landed on Helen Melendy beside Elly. His pupils shrank sharply.
Just as Leo Hall was about to leave, Edward Smith grabbed his collar and pulled him back.
