"That's good, thank you, sister-in-law."
Johnson Fefferman gave Elly Campbell a grateful smile, then continued:
"I've also caused you quite a bit of trouble here. In a couple of days, once my business here is done, I'll head back to Germany."
"Leaving so soon?"
"Yes."
Johnson smiled, a bit helplessly, "With this kind of thing happening, staying would only cause more trouble for you..."
At this point, she paused, pressing her lips tightly together, and then said softly:
"I saw those news articles this morning too..."
Elly Campbell brushed it off with a smile, saying:
"It's alright, I understand. Don't worry about it."
"Thank you, sister-in-law."
Elly nodded and followed up the stairs. The moment she turned, the smile on her face slowly faded, a sharp look flickered in her eyes.
If it were anyone else, Elly might actually believe what Johnson said, but the other party was Adam Jones, her beloved master of the island.
No one understood him better than she did.
