Knowing now is not the time to dawdle, Memoria places her hand on his shoulder, kisses him on the face, puts his phone by his side, and swiftly climbs out the window, carefully following the route he designed for her to descend downstairs.
She slides down the drainpipe like a cat, glances back at the indifferent Kasper upstairs, and turns to leap over the flowerbed.
Kasper lies on the pillow, listening intently to the outside noises.
Counting silently in his heart, after ten minutes without hearing anything unusual in the courtyard, he finally feels a bit relieved.
Time slowly passes.
Half an hour later, the phone vibrates gently, a text message comes from her.
"I'm in the car, about to set off."
Kasper exhales a sigh of relief, immediately replies to her text.
"Drive safe, I left two cans of coffee in the car, drink one if you feel drowsy. No need to reply, drive carefully."
Deleting the message, he tosses the phone aside, and Kasper lets out a long breath.
