"..."
Flossie Wright cast a sidelong glance at him.
This master probably finds nothing pleasing to the eye right now.
After thinking for a bit, Flossie remembered the lesson from last time and reminded Perry Reed, "Don't make it too salty."
"Mm."
Perry responded as if it was just a routine instruction.
Having sat back down, Perry started to salt the fish and snake. As Flossie had suggested, he didn't use much, simply seasoning it to taste.
Soon enough, the fish and snake were, in a rather sorry state, finished in his hands.
"What will you eat?"
Perry, having taken down both the fish and snake, asked Flossie.
"Snake."
She gave a simple answer, casually laying the firewood down.
Perry passed the cooked snake to her.
Flossie took it.
She tore off a piece of the snake meat and sampled it for flavor.
It tasted better than she had expected.
