"Nothing."
Liliana Davis raised her hand and removed her glasses, pressing her nose bridge as if unwilling to continue the topic.
Nathan Leafcastle glanced sideways at his mother, then straightened his posture.
"Turn right up ahead... Stop the car!"
The car stopped by the roadside, and Nathan Leafcastle reached out to push open the car door.
"Mom, I want to talk to you!"
Reluctantly, Liliana Davis had to get out of the car and follow him to the riverbank, walked a dozen steps before Nathan Leafcastle stopped and turned to his mother.
"I want to hear the truth!"
Raising his right hand, he leaned on the stone railing beside the river, and Liliana Davis tapped her fingers on the railing, before speaking softly after a moment.
"Nathan, some things... it's better that you don't know."
After speaking, she turned around and walked toward the direction where the car was parked.
"Mom!" Nathan Leafcastle grabbed her wrist, "Is it related to Vera?"
