Vera Wave caught Merlin Bradley's eye. Merlin Bradley then led the way, with Anabel Wilton following behind, clasping a thick stack of notebooks.
Vera Wave wore one of the backpacks, had the water bottle tucked under her arm, and carried Anabel Wilton's other bag—which was also a backpack—in her hand. She slyly reached into the bag she was carrying and pulled out Anabel's phone.
The screen lit up, revealing a password prompt.
