Maxwell Peary watched her like this and said nothing. Time flowed by warmly.
「The next day.」
Dressed entirely in black, Nia Mitchell sat in the CEO's car; the atmosphere felt particularly oppressive. Maxwell Peary remained expressionless, yet his entire being exuded sadness. Nia Mitchell only had to feel with her heart to sense his dejection. Silence filled the car. Soon, he drove to Yancy Hastings' house.
This was Nia Mitchell's first time visiting such a place: an old mansion in the Military District, home only to high-ranking officers.
"Time to get out," Maxwell Peary said faintly. The sky had been clear just the day before, but as they got out of the car, a light rain began to fall.
Nia Mitchell stood next to the CEO, both of them sharing an umbrella. Her small hand gripped his large one tightly, wanting to lend him strength. Maxwell Peary glanced at her but said nothing.
