"Behave yourself!"
Yancy Hastings frowned, displeased. His voice, tinged with anger, effectively silenced Fiona Sutton.
"Let's go!"
Without giving Fiona any chance to refuse, he reached out to grab her, ready to leave.
Unexpectedly, at that moment, Charles Northwood stood up and blocked their path.
"Sir, I don't care who you are, please respect her."
Charles Northwood's words were somewhat roundabout, but the message was simple and clear. That is, if Fiona doesn't want to go, then you should let her go. However, how could Charles Northwood possibly put it so bluntly, and so impolitely? Moreover, he wasn't actually sure whether Fiona truly didn't want to go or was just playing coy.
Seeing Charles Northwood step in, Fiona's face lightened up. She knew he wouldn't ignore her.
"What are you to her?"
Why would Yancy Hastings listen to Charles Northwood? Who did he think he was, daring to involve himself in Yancy's matters?
