He took a deep breath before speaking, "Maybe the power's out. Let go of me first, I'll go take a look."
He tried to pry her hands away, but she clung fearfully, "Don't go, don't leave me here alone."
The sudden darkness seemed to swallow her, making her feel particularly frightened.
She wouldn't let Kevin take a step away. If she couldn't hold onto him, she felt like this fear would consume her.
Usually brave Aurelia Wood, at that moment, turned into a scaredy-cat, which left Kevin a bit helpless but also sparked a desire to protect her.
"How can I check if you're holding onto me like this?"
