A month later, New York.
Aurelia Wood wanted to visit the prison, initially thinking Arthur Baker would refuse again.
Unexpectedly, he agreed.
In a fully enclosed room, she finally saw the person she had been missing all along.
He was thinner, and seemed to be a bit darker in complexion.
His face was bruised, as if he had just been injured.
The instant Aurelia saw him, her tears nearly fell, but she forced them back with all her might.
She managed to squeeze out a smile, "You finally agreed to see me."
Her voice trembled, even though she tried so hard to control herself, her shaky voice betrayed her.
Arthur looked up at her, his eyes were cold, so cold it made people shiver.
"Did she get married?"
He finally spoke to her, but it was still about Sofia Hamilton.
Aurelia felt a pang in her heart and gave a bitter smile, "I thought you'd never speak to me in this lifetime."
She knew he blamed her in his heart.
That's why, for so long, he refused to see her.
