Chapter 491 - 17

Chapter 17

Meanwhile in the Shiketsu staff meeting room

"I'm not joking! That girl just gave a liver shot to Gento over there! Her future teacher with a bat! It was the funniest shit I've ever seen! There's a video of it look!"

As the projector replayed Himiko's exam. it replayed the scene where Himiko knocked the air out of the man's lungs and put him in a chokehold. The rest of the room winced in shared pain.

"Holy crap!" A tall muscular woman with sharp teeth with green hair and black eyes exclaimed, she had scales running along her two arms. "That's the first time I've seen someone who isn't a villain managing to catch him off guard."

Onimaru Gento, the underground hero and teacher at Shiketsu blushed and sighed "Can we not talk about the fact that I got put in a chokehold by a teenager?"

'Nope! Considering she is now your student Gento!" Vice principal Miyamoto exclaimed. "From now on Chizue Himiko is a Shiketsu student and will follow a different time table from the heroic department students. Some of her heroic lessons will be switched to private lessons from you so she can learn the ins and outs of underground heroism."

"Wait she's a student here now?" the red haired Akagi Himari asked. "We still hadn't assessed any of the other hero course applicants?"

"While that is true Akagi, Chizue has proven that she has more than enough base skill to pursue underground heroics and being the only applicant. It wasn't a hard choice to make and it didn't take a long time to think over. Considering her ingenious way of getting past the robot and the fact that she quickly dispatched Onimaru here. She has my approval to be a heroics student here. We can't let talent like that go to waste." An old woman about in her sixties replied. The principal of Shiketsu Matsuda Tomiko replied, a woman with slight wrinkles and her hair was light blue with some grey strands, she was shorter than a lot of the teachers around 169 centimeters tall and had a slim figure.

"I must admit I admire the skill. The fact that she noticed me early on was impressive enough. Added with the fact that she knew she had to secure an advantage, in this case a weapon. I wonder where she learnt it from? I'm willing to take her in" replied Onimaru.

"However I do think we could arrange some mental help for Chizue, I think she would benefit from having sessions with me." Akagi, the school counselor piped up

"Oh really? From the video she seemed like a happy go lucky type." The muscular woman asked.

"Well, Ryujin, Chizue has noted some concerning things during the interview including: and I quote "Life hasn't been kind to me" and "it's still things I have to process". This suggests a deep trauma. That led to her want of becoming an underground hero. Not to mention the speed and power that she showed when taking down Onimaru was quite shocking. While she has definitely trained for this, it almost seems practiced, like she has done it before, that response could suggest that she grew up in an environment that was violent. Forcing her to learn these techniques."

"Not to mention, during the interview she has mentioned times where she has witnessed people being hurt or discriminated against, and this does seem like a common thing for her sadly. It may lead to PTSD. Therefore I want to suggest getting her mental help. Also look at this footage at the near one of our entrances."

Akagi started playing some footage of Himiko sitting on a bench seemingly having a panic attack before playing something on her phone. Making her face turn into one of a dumb smile.

"It seems like she is prone to panic attacks. Thankfully she has shown that she has ways of coping but the point still stands I think we should get her mental help."

"I see, in that case, I will talk to her about it when the school year starts." The principal replied. "By the way did she ever explain her quirk?"

"No madam" Nariko replied, she didn't go much into it, I assume it has something to do with transforming considering that's what the quirk registry says, it also says that she has a special dietary requirement, in that she needs to drink blood to survive. Animal blood is fine but human blood is preferred, it says here, She says she has a way of securing blood thanks to her mother being a surgeon. It's more of a formality of letting us know so we don't freak out when we see her drink blood, but I think we'll learn about her quirk soon enough"

Onimaru added "Also whichever one of you get her, try to keep the information of her quirk a bit vague with her classmates, it's not a must, but we underground heroes shouldn't let our quirk be known amongst a lot of people. Just try to keep it for as long as possible."

Both of the heroics teacher nodded

The principal nodded "I must say, I am really surprised no one scouted her, judging from her skills. Any school would put her through some type of recommendation."

"Well Matsuda, you see Chizue Himiko is homeschooled."

At that statement a man at the end of the table who has been silent through out the meeting did a spit take. The man had a normal human head, if you ignore the big yellow eyes and the feathers poking out of him resembling an owl, Taiki Fukurou, the head of the general course of Shiketsu High. "THAT GIRL IS HOMESCHOOLED?"

Seeing the normally calm and quiet teacher freak out like this was surprising for the rest of the table. The principal spoke first "Yes Taiki is there a problem with that?"

"N-No it's not a problem at all! I-It's just that her written exam paper, it is the highest in her grade group. Granted the difference b-between her and the number 10 spot is only 1.7 but still I thought she went to an elite private school or something! Her paper blows the rest out of the water! To think that she is homeschooled makes me wonder what kind of teacher she must have had! Oh my god..."

Seeing the calm teacher praise his future's student's paper like that made Onimaru wonder "Hey Fuku, those are the papers right? You mind telling me about hers? I want to know of her academics."

"S-sure, well math is her weakest but even then, she used equations that are taught to high school first years. Equations that are in our current curriculum. She got a majority of the questions right, her science subjects are quite good as well, but what blew me away was her English/Literature part. She used tenses right, she had a wide vocabulary, she knew quite a lot about literature, especially European ones and you know how this year we made both of those sections shorter so that we had an essay at the final part. where if you did it you could count it towards English and Literature points. She did it and wrote about this book she read called "Farewell to Arms". Her writing style is clear and concise. As if she's a native speaker of English! I don't know where she got it, since it's a book published in 1929, almost 400 years ago. I had to go to the depths of my personal library to find a copy of this and when I read it, the English was too complicated for the average Japanese middle school student and the subject matter was even harder it was about a World War 1 soldier falling in love with a nurse. Somehow finding literature this old is an accomplishment in of itself but to find something this good! The essay was so fascinating to me and the essay she wrote gave it such a good analysis behind the romance, the conflict of it all. I swear if she doesn't want to be a hero one day, she can definitely be a writer!"

The rest of the table looked in intrigue. Someone like her not being noticed by a school was understandable but not being noticed by anyone? That was quite hard to believe if what Fukurou said was true.

"Well I guess I can be glad that my future personal student is a bookworm and can kick ass, with that said though whose heroics class is she going into?"

Both Nariko and Ryujin stood up "MINE!" they both exclaimed before scowling at each other.

"Oh boy..." Thought the principal

At the same time, at UA

142

142, that was the number on everyone's minds in the staff meeting room. They were sorting out enrollments, they had managed everyone except for one.

Midoriya Izuku

The student that scored a whopping 142 points. 47 villain points and 95 rescue points. Granted 60 of those rescue points came from destroying the zero pointer but even without that 60, 82 points was nothing to scoff at.

But 142 was their new record. Beating All Might's of 129.

"Alright." Snipe piped up. "How the hell did this kid not get recommended by someone? ANYONE AT ALL?! WHERE DID HE EVEN COME FROM? No school records to speak off, and the documents we have on him are the bare minimum required for applying."

"Ok calm down everyone I know it's not everyday we get someone that beat the number 1 hero's high school score, but at least we can say... This kid is something else..." said Nezu, even he was a bit shocked at this boy.

"Very well, first of all, what's his quirk, Inui, you have the records right?"

"Yes, here it says Mindflare, the user can generate green energy from his mind. Possible drawbacks are mental strain and brain damage."

"That's not a lot to work with, you sure you don't have anything more?" Aizawa asked.

"Nope that's all it says. I'm as confused as you are Aizawa."

"Ectoplasm, Present Mic you two were looking over the written portions weren't you? You also have their graded papers. What can you tell me about this boy." Nezu asked

The two teachers shuddered as they recall the scene. Because they knew, the kid was smart, alongside being able to take down groups of robots and rescuing people all at the same time. The kid had a brain for academics.

"Well during the test when everyone seemed panicked at least over some portion of the exam. He was the only one remaining consistently calm through out and finished the entire thing along with the essay that is OPTIONAL with 45 minutes to spare. We thought he was cocky, but when I graded the English and Ecto graded the math, We could tell two things. One the kid definitely knows English fluently, he got the entire portion right, and even though he messed up a few questions on the math portion. He used equations that are taught here in our high school first year curriculum correctly, a lot of questions that should have taken longer was solved quicker because he knew the equations. I swear I saw Cementoss tear up when he read his literature part, and his science and history is great too! Especially the part about quirk biology. He wrote his questions like a certified analyst! Ecto said he had no electronics on his person, and he was watched the whole time, so he didn't cheat. This kid is smart beyond belief alongside being a deadly robot killer!"

"Speaking of killing robots." Powerloader intercepted "That kid has to have some knowledge over mechanics. The spots he targeted, they were the weak points of the robot. They're made of softer materials for the robots to be able to turn around and move in. The cuts were clean. If you look through the footage he cut through the heads, the arms and was smart enough to target the red sensors. Pull up the footage now."

The footage played. Seeing Izuku swinging around and scaling buildings while beheading and blinding multiple robots.

Eraserhead intercepted. "I think that kid understands something underground heroes do, don't waste energy on big attacks if small precise ones can do the job. He was logical through out the entire exam. He's like a limelight hero that uses the techniques of underground heroes. He just took down the threat, and moved on to saving people."

Vlad King piped up as well. "That kid has remarkable control. Kids with flashy quirks tend to have poor control and they try to let their quirk go during these tests. Showing their raw power but it seems Midoriya doesn't focus on that, instead he seems to focus on speed and efficiency. Something hero students need to understand more considering lives are on the line. Also to be able to scale buildings like a spider and swing around like a monkey. While saving people and destroying robots. Where does he get his ideas for him to move like this? Where or who did he train under? The most impressive part though... pull up the zero pointer footage."

The footage played showing Izuku rushing towards the robot, jumping while removing a piece of debris and saving a girl stuck in rubble then tried to throw pieces of debris at the robot. Only for it to fail, he then swung around with a look of focus before a hint of realization took over his eyes. He threw the rest of the debris up, and as the robot looked up. Izuku brought down the figurative guillotine on it and caught the debris he threw and started to slowly guide the robot to fall.

"Three things. One, great spatial awareness. He knew where the girl was even after he jumped and saved her with remarkable precision. Two, ability to think on the fly. He saw his idea of throwing debris at it didn't work so he devised a plan where it would show it's weak spots and take advantage of it. Three, great sense for rescue heroics. Not only does he shows this by rescuing the other applicants. The fact the he looked like he knew there was a chance that someone could have been under that robot or the debris he threw, he caught the debris and slowed the robot's fall, allowing ample time for them to escape or for other heroes to save them. Not to mention, it limits property damage." Vlad King surmised.

"As a rescue hero I respect that." Thirteen cut in

"Those are concepts that third years today have some trouble over, and yet this kid knew what to do, it's as if he had a past life as a hero or something." Eraserhead muttered

"Did this student show any behavioral issues through out the test?" Asked Nezu.

Ectoplasm shook his head. "No, you would think someone with such power and such a quirk would be cocky like the students we had before but from what I've seen at least, he is polite and courteous, even to my clones. After the practical, I noticed that the kids were kind of scared of him and moved away from him like a yakuza boss and he politely thanked all of them. He was quiet but did not seem aloof, just introverted."

"Really? Now that is a bit confusing indeed. It's rare we have someone this humble. What do the school records say."

Midnight gave her input "He's homeschooled sir so no school records."

The rest of the table had a similar reaction to that of the teachers in Shiketsu.

"Homeschooled?! I thought at least some private academy like Somei, but homeschooled?!" Present Mic exclaimed

"That is certainly a surprise. He must have had one hell of a dedicated teacher." Cementoss said.

"Wait, Yamada, you said he did the optional essay right what was it about?" Thirteen asked

"It was on and I quote "Overlooked and Forgotten aspects of Heroic Society"

"Interesting, not something hero students would normally write about, are there any passages that catch your eye? How long is it?" Nezu asked

"It is two and a half pages long, 10000 words. When i saw him write this he looked so impassioned, like he was writing a manifesto for a revolution." said Present Mic

"Let me take a look at it." Nezu said, as he read on, his smile grew wider and wider, before he straight up started cackling.

"Fuck that is never a good sign" Thought everyone in the room

"This child is something else! His insights, oh my i like him!"

"W-what part of the essay do you like sir" Cementoss swallowing his fear asked, if Nezu genuinely likes someone, that person is more likely or not someone with dangerous capabilities.

"Well there's a passage on villains he wrote and I quote"

One of the most neglected areas in heroic society is the rehabilitation of villains. The current system tends to focus on incarcerating those who misuse their quirks, often overlooking the potential for rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Villains, many of whom are driven to crime by societal rejection or lack of support, are seldom given the opportunity to reform. Effective rehabilitation programs could transform these individuals into productive members of society, reducing recidivism. Not to mention, a lot of villains are driven to crime over lack of support or opportunities. If we as a society were to show just a little kindness or understanding. We could prevent the formation of many villains in the first place.

"He then wrote one about my kind! and I quote"

These creatures, often with abilities as diverse as those of humans, are seldom acknowledged in discussions about heroism and quirk regulation. The only one relatively widely known is Principal Nezu of UA, people often think that these beings are lower than them because they originate as animals, not humans so they act like it's fine to experiment or test drugs on them. It is not right. The boon these animals could provide is remarkable. I would know, I regularly interact with one almost daily! Not the least Principal Nezu so far has proven capable to lead a school just as fine as a regular human would.

"And then he went on to take a guess of what my species is. He is the closest by far, in fact he's so close, oh Eraserhead, you'll like this one, It's about underground heroes, quote."

Although they aim to be, underground heroes are very unknown. I think limelight heroes should put more trust into them. they can definitely learn a thing or two from them also, underground heroes specialise in takedowns, stealth and information gathering, the main lesson I think they need to learn is a lot of times there is no need for a hero to do a massive attack when a better, quicker and more logical alternative is available, underground heroes understand that. I saw several in action in my life, Notably I think they were Eraserhead and Phantom, they were efficient and deadly, able to keep the peace and safety from the most rundown parts of the city. No unnecessary stuff, they first evaluated the situation then adjusted their fighting style and tactics to find a logical way to adapt to it. I respect heroes like Eraserhead and Phantom immensely even more than some limelight heroes for the fact that they do dangerous work and barely get any recognition. Just helping for the sake of it. I think that is a pure way to be a hero.

"Aww... Looks like you have a fan Sho!"

"Shut it Yamada, finally a kid that understands the concept of being logical."

"I'm surprised he got you in action, alongside Phantom? Do you know who that is?" Snipe asked

Aizawa replied "Yeah, he's a great underground hero, I work with him a lot, he got a new teaching job at Shiketsu."

"That is surprising though, you patrol in ungodly hours like 1am to 7am ? sometimes even longer!" Midnight said

"That is true I wonder how the hell that kid saw me..."

"Anyways, let's continue with this essay. Oh this is good, it talks about quirk discrimination. Quote"

Many times in my life I have seen people been cast aside for their quirks or lack thereof, no matter what talents they might have or how great of a person some of them are, people with mutant quirks are mocked. Even hunted down in some cases with organizations like the Creature Rejection Clan. Striving for a fool's idea of purity. They didn't choose to be born like this and even if they did. They shouldn't be treated any lesser. People with villainous quirks are also disregarded since they are considered dangerous. With quirks like blood manipulation, mind altering, emotion manipulation, quirks that control the body, quirks that can unleash great power at an instant are examples of quirks I've encountered. Even though, those people I've encountered were good natured. I believe as long as the person has a pure conscience then they shouldn't be feared. Regardless of quirks. I am willing to bet that some heroes to this day have faced discrimination in the past for their quirks. If my experience with blood manipulation and mutant quirks was present in the past. Heroes like Vlad King and Gang Orca definitely faced some discrimination and yet they didn't give in to the hate. To use a quirk that people consider villainous or weak to do good is way more impressive and admirable to me than if someone was born with a flashy quirk and was powerful from the beginning, and I think Vlad King and Gang Orca are fine examples of that. The Quirkless are by far the worst treated. Almost considered sub human if the suicide rates are anything to go by. They shouldn't be! Quirks have existed for around 200 years humans have done incredible feats before that! All while Quirkless! I admit that a quirk can help in a lot of situations but that doesn't make it right to doubt someone's talents or character just because of their quirk status. In fact it just makes them more impressive. To reach a point where a lot of quirked people can't means that they reached that point through sheer determination and talent. I think that all this creates a mean cycle where people are shunned for their quirks. Until they get pushed to the point of villainy and do crimes which only reinforces that type of thinking. I believe that if hero society keeps going like this. To focus on the quirk more than the human then we will reach a point where those forgotten by society will resort to drastic measures. People like Stain think that breaking faith in heroes and killing them would reveal flaws in society and change this, but I believe that society need to put more faith in societies lowest, forgotten people and put faith in their hearts towards society as well. We looked a gift horse in the mouth when it comes to these people. A lot of them are willing to be part of society and serve the people, in the form of being heroes, medical professionals, engineers. But society has kicked these people to the curb. If they can't help society, what is stopping them from turning into people who would make sure their talents known to society in some of the most destructive ways?

The rest of the table was stunned.

"God... It was like a manifesto."

"The kid got it right. I did face flak for my quirk. He is a rare gem of a student... To have such views at such an age."

"He definitely has great insight to a lot of topics, especially that of society. He shares similar thought about hero society to me. A great knowledge along with great power." Nezu said in fascination. " I need to meet this boy..."

"He is definitely a student here! We cannot let such talent go to waste!"

"Agreed, now let's put him in my class it's only logical." Aizawa quickly said before snatching the folder. Only for the folder to be grabbed by Vlad at the same time.

"Vlad... What are you doing?"

"Why I am simply putting him in the hero course." He replied with a glare.

"Then give it to me, he clearly has a powerful quirk and needs to learn to control it. You know I take students like that Vlad. Besides this kid has a logical side I have not seen in any other student so it will be logical for me to teach him, he already respects me a lot so that's a bonus."

"Uh, did you hear us back there? He already has great control of his quirk, whatever it is, you admit it yourself. I take the ones with decent control and need to get stronger. This kid also seems to have an understanding side with his hate for quirk discrimination and also in case you were deaf. He also says he respects me.I think I should take this one."

"Alright you two, just admit it you both want the kid that beat All Might's score in your class, am I right?" Asked Midnight

"Nope! Totally not!" Yelled the both of them.

Nezu intervened "Now, now, I know that you both want him but Aizawa, you have 20 students already. So unless you are willing to take an extra or Vlad is willing to trade, which is something I don't think will happen. You can't have him."

Eraserhead stood up with a straight face. "I am willing to take him in, this kid has potential."

Vlad King also stood up. "No! You already have the 2nd and 4th and 5th highest scorer of the entrance exam, not to mention having two students who are related to pro heroes by blood and the daughter of one of the richest families in the country. Besides, he has proven that he has good control, just needs to get stronger. That falls under my jurisdiction. You take those with powerful quirks that need control." Vlad King flashed his canines before saying. "Back off..."

"Enough! We are sending him the acceptance letter at least. We can sort out what class he can be in later. We need to make sure no other hero schools take him!" Nezu slammed his hands on the table

Eraserhead and Vlad King both sat down each throwing a glare at each other.

Present Mic butted in "Also, whoever's class he gets into. You need to check into his attitude. The past has suggested that those with big flashy quirks are cocky or too proud of themselves. I know the essay might suggest otherwise but we need to see and interact personally with the boy first for that to prove his character. I know Shouta isn't gonna have a problem with putting him down when needed but Kan, you need to watch out as well."

"Don't worry, I can put my foot down when I need to." Vlad King replied.

"Great now all that is sorted! Let's move on to the next topic of business. Our new heroics teacher! As you all know, it's All Might! He starts tomorrow but we need to wait for him to get here he's probably out there fighting villains right now."

"Ughhh. This is gonna be a long meeting" muttered Present Mic in English.

Himiko was having lunch with her parents at home. Her parents already notice her acting a bit strangely, her face looks more pensive.

"Alright, Himiko, both of us have noticed that you have been looking a bit worried, is it over the Shiketsu exam, I'm sure you did well dear." Daichi said.

Himiko blushed, embarrassed that they let her attitude effect her parents.

"Well, that but not just that. It's just I'm thinking things through..."

"Is it about something else, your mental health, your relationships..." Rina asked.

"maybe..." Himiko quietly squeaked. Hoping they didn't hear her.

"It's about Izuku isn't it." Rina and Daichi both said at the same time with a small smile.

Himiko blushed a shade of red deeper than the blood inside her.

"Listen darling, you might not know this, but you are not very subtle in your crush."

"R-Really?" Himiko whispered.

"Yes, you don't nibble on someone's arm or constantly wanting to be in someone's presence or instantly calm down when they're close or tease them, unless you like them Himi." Rina teased

"It's just... I'm scared..." Himiko replied.

"Why darling?" Daichi asked

"I mean... I never had a normal life, and now it finally seems to be going on track. and before all this, Izuku was my anchor. He didn't judge me, he protected me and provided for my needs... I like him... but there's so many things that I want to do with him, like a normal couple would but we aren't normal, we both know that. So I want to do things that couples usually do but what worries me is that... some of the things I want to do... might be too weird, but I just don't feel right without doing them! I'm scared that if I showed him more of me, he would hate me... Although I've come a long way from seeing blood on someone being cute, but even then, I might not be good enough for him... maybe I'm too weird, maybe I'm not beautiful enough, it's just that there's also a sense that I want to repay him for all he's done for me but I don't want to ruin what I have with him now! But I feel so much more pressured now. Especially with him maybe going to UA and me Shiketsu, there's a good chance we are going to see each other less. Not to mention, we are trying to be heroes. If either one of us were to be hurt too bad before I managed to say it...." Himiko cried at that last sentence.

Rina and Daichi shared a tender look, their concern for their daughter evident in their eyes. Daichi reached out, gently placing a hand on Himiko's shoulder. "Himiko, listen to me," he began softly, "Izuku has been there for you through everything. He's seen you at your worst and still stood by you. That's not something that changes easily."

Rina nodded, her expression warm and reassuring. "Darling, love isn't about being perfect. It's about accepting each other, flaws and all. Izuku knows who you are, and he cares about you deeply. If there's anyone who would understand and accept your unique ways of showing affection, it's him."

"But... what if it's too much?" Himiko sniffled, her eyes searching her parents' faces for reassurance.

Daichi squeezed her shoulder gently. "Then you talk it through. Relationships are about communication and trust. If something makes him uncomfortable, you'll find a way to adjust. And if it's truly important to you, he'll understand and support you, just like you support him."

Rina added, "And remember, you don't have to do everything all at once. Take it step by step. Share a little more of yourself with him each day. If he's the right person for you, he'll appreciate getting to know the real you."

Himiko wiped her tears, feeling a glimmer of hope. "But what if... what if he doesn't feel the same way?"

Daichi smiled gently. "Then at least you'll know, and you can move forward without regrets. But from what we've seen, it's clear that he cares about you a lot. Trust yourself, and trust him."

"Ok..." Himiko said a plan forming in her head

Himiko was in Izuku's room above the bar. Both clutching a letter, one from Shiketsu, the other from UA.

"So... you want to go first?" Izuku asked.

"Ok... I'll do it!" Himiko ripped open the envelope and read the letter.

"To Chizue Himiko. We at Shiketsu High are honored to accept your application for the underground hero cour-"

Himiko didn't even finish before being hugged by Izuku

"I knew you could do it Himi!" Himiko couldn't believe it either. She had done it, she was going to train to become a hero...

"I-I couldn't have done it without you Zuku!" Himiko teared up saying that. "Now open your UA letter!" immediately returning to her happy, playful grin.

Izuku opened the envelope only for a metal disc to fall out. Soon a holographic projection came out. Izuku and Himiko jumped at the sight. "Hello! Am I a dog, a bear or a mouse? What matters is I am the Principal of UA, Nezu!" "They certainly have money to blow if this is how the acceptance letters are like." Izuku whispered to a giggling Himiko.

"Now I want to say that you are quite the student! On the exam, you have acquired 47 villain points! However, what type of hero school would we be if we didn't account for the most important part of being a hero. Saving people! During the exam, you can earn rescue points! You earn these from saving people during the exam!" Footage started playing of the people Izuku saved, the pink skinned girl, the blade boy, the yellow haired kid and even the boy that called him out for being quirkless then it started playing the footage of Izuku saving a girl and taking on the zero-pointer. Himiko looked on in awe. "That was so cool! Zuku!" "Therefore I am glad to say, not only are you accepted into the hero course! You have broke the record of points earned! You have earned 95 rescue points! Meaning your point total is 142! Breaking All Might's of 129!" The leaderboard then appeared. Izuku was shocked when he realized that he beat All Might's score. That will make Tinker happy Izuku thought, but he started to laugh with glee when he saw who came second place.

Katsuki Bakugo 77 villain points.

0 rescue points

Himiko was confused at first before looking at the second place name, suddenly their room is filled with maniacal laughter.

"With that said this is your hero academia! However..."

Izuku's heart dropped. He was accepted, so what now?

"I'll come clean with you Midoriya, the situation is quite funny, no one have ever came close to beating All Might's score, and you are quite the sensation within the teachers." Nezu started to laugh. "The two heroics teacher begged me to not tell you this but right now, they are fighting tooth and nail for you to be in their class and the staff are debating which class you should be sent to as well. I will hope for the situation be resolved before class starts next week, but don't worry, if you haven't received anything from us, then please don't go to a classroom, instead come to my office so we can discuss your class placements, you can explore the campus on the first day and use our facilities if you come in early, from our training rooms to libraries, besides during our meeting, I want to talk with you personally especially after seeing your essay, However, don't worry, your spot in the hero course is secure. So I hope to see you in the coming school year Midoriya Izuku, with that said, once again, this is your hero academia!"

Izuku started to cry at that message. The fact that he got into UA in the first place was crazy enough but to do so while beating All Might and to the point where the teachers are fighting over him. He did not expect that. He did not expect his life to turn out this way and yet it did.

Himiko hugged him tight also. both tearing up in each other's shoulders. They stayed like that for at least 10 minutes before Himiko pulled away.

She looked around her, the simple bed, the nightstand with her book recommendations on it, a computer on a desk to the side, with "A Farewell to Arms" on the top of the pile, a closet with all of his clothing, a bookshelf with so many book on academics. There were a lot of pre quirk era things and memorabilia from music discs to figurines of pre quirk characters and structures but to her the most moving part was the board stuck on the wall with multiple pictures on it. There were so many pictures of him and Himiko, so many pictures of people having fun at the bar, some pictures when they ventured into the coves of Musutafu, even a picture that her parents took when they took the both of them to Mount Fiji. It reminded her of what she planned to do today.

"Izuku, there's something I want to talk to you about..."

"Himi? What's wrong?"

"Well now that we are actually going to a public highschool and we might see each other less. I want to tell you something."

"Himi, our bond won't change you know that!" Izuku smiled.

"No! That's the thing I want my bond to change with you" Himiko said closing her eyes.

Izuku was about to speak before Himiko stopped him still having her eyes closed.

"Izuku, we've been through so much together. You've been my anchor, my protector, and my best friend. Literally the first person I ever met who was kind to me. I don't know where I'd be without you."

Izuku smiled softly. "Himi, you're my best friend too. We've always been there for each other."

She nodded, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes. "That's just it, Izuku. You've always been there for me, no matter what. And... I've realized that my feelings for you are more than just friendship. I want to be with you, your girlfriend."

Izuku's eyes widened slightly, but he remained silent, letting her continue.

"I... I like you, Izuku. Not just as a friend, but as something more. And I know I'm not perfect. I know I have things about me that might seem weird or even scary. But I want to be with you. I want to go out with you, I want to do all the things that couples do, even if some of them are a bit... unconventional. I want to be normal..."

"I know with things like the cove and high school, it's hard to find private time but, I just want to let you know before I regret it when it's too late... After hanging out here for so long with you, even if it's not a date. Even if it's just at the bar, I still feel joy whenever I'm with you. I didn't know why I waited so long to tell you this, but i guess it's that I'm scared, Izuku. I'm scared that if I show you more of who I am, let myself be free around you, you'll think I'm too weird or too much. I'm scared that I'm not good enough for you. But I can't keep these feelings inside anymore. I need you to know how much you mean to me."

There was a moment of silence, and Himiko felt her heart pounding in her chest. Then, Izuku squeezed her hand reassuringly. "I am shocked to hear that Himiko but, so happy at the same time. You know after being a part of this, being a part of your life for so long, I don't judge someone based on their needs or quirks and after all these years... I would be lying if I were to say I didn't have feelings for you too... You were one of the only friends I had that were my age growing up, so it was only natural, and don't ever think you're not good enough for someone cause you are to me, you got that? So yes, I accept your feelings Himiko."

Himiko started to sob loudly and kissed Izuku on the cheek. Muttering "Thank god.... thank god..." "I'll be there for you always Izuku, especially after we go to highschools. Especially after tonight..."

"I would do the same for you Himiko. We'll take it slow ok? We both know we aren't normal people." Izuku chuckled awkwardly.

"Ok..." Himiko collected herself before forcing down her happiness and putting on a playful and chaotic grin.

"Let's go tell the people about how we did!" Izuku smiled before both of them ran down the stairs. Holding each other's hands.

The entire bar was standing up. waiting on the news of their two prodigies. Everyone waited with baited breath. Some people from other safe spaces were there as well.

"WE GOT IN!" Izuku yelled out as he held Himiko's hand running down the stairs.

"YEAHHHHHHH!" The bar erupted into cheers, champagne bottles were popped opened. Quirks went off left and right, sparks, tentacles, weird dark matter started going everywhere, and blue fire erupted, courtesy of Dabi yelling at the back. Weird noises as well, bird like chirps, mouse like squeaks and even a howl erupted.

Himiko and Izuku were both embraced by Tetsuchi, Insight and Hare, saying how proud of them they are.

"I KNEW IT! I KNEW YOU BRATS WERE GONNA GET IN!" Hare, the normally stoic man kneeled down and sobbed

Insight was at a lost hugging them while saying things like. "I realized their potential..."

Tetsuchi was just looking at the sky holding back his tears as he thought about this. The two children he found were now going to be heroes.

Amongst all this, Himiko couldn't keep her happiness in check as she slammed her lips on Izuku's

The whole bar was silent. Before someone rushed to the speaker at the stage and blasted a love song.

Everyone, especially the women shrieked in joy, the men started chanting for Izuku, making both Izuku and Himiko blush.

For that moment, that small, unassuming and dingy looking bar was the happiest place in the world.
