Ma Lin said, "If we had materials that were light enough, we could indeed use foot power to get a kite into the sky. But we don't have materials that light yet. Planes, at the very least, need to be sturdy, right? Both sturdy and lightweight, such materials require a very high industrial level to produce. In fact, back in my hometown, many of the earliest attempts to make airplanes involved trying to power a propeller with foot pedals. Unfortunately, the furthest they could glide was just over one hundred meters, and both paragliders and gliders can fly much farther."
"What are paragliders and gliders?"
So Ma Lin drew paragliders and gliders on paper, indicating that by jumping from a high place with them, one could glide quite a distance.
"What material is this paraglider made from? It looks easy to make."
Ma Lin said, "It's made of fabric and rope, and right now we have the conditions to make it."
"Then why not give it a try?"
