As soon as Ken was discharged by his mom, he went straight to the Hokage's office.
"Grandpaaa" Ken shouted as he slammed the door of the Hokage's office to which Hiruzen could only release a sigh.
'I have lost the strength to even argue about it now. In fact, I should get the door removed, no one even bothers knocking these days. Even Danzo just barges through it, How can I reprimand Ken if even one of the elder ls of the village does this shit?' Hiruzen thought tiredly
Ken looked at Shikaku who for once was not sleeping on his job as he gave a death stare to Ken.
'It looks like mom complained to Aunty Yoshino. Are his cheeks looking slightly red? Did he get slapped by his wife? That would be quite painful even for a Jonin. Well, at least he is still alive. I hope he does not take out his anger and frustration on me. Getting on the bad side of a Nara is never a good thing.' Ken thought as he bowed at Shikaku as a form of an apology.
Shikaku gave him the stink eye while he released a sigh. Ken took it as a sign of apology accepted and 'don't do it again' as he walked upto Hiruzen with excitement in his eyes.
Hiruzen knew why Ken was here as he remembered their spar where his grandson tried to kill him and he would have died if not for the training of sage mode and it's effects. on both his age and physical attributes. Hiruzen could not blame his grandson though since It was his idea to spar and he was the one that did not take the fight seriously.
"You should be resting for another week, Ken. Training right after suffering from chakra exhausion can be lethal especially training with chakra. Maybe you should train in Taijutsu or Kenjutsu for some time." Hiruzen said trying to tease his grandson knowing pretty well that it would be impossible for his grandson to rest for another day.
"No way, I have already rested enough and wasted two days of training. Besides your words don't matter since mom gave me permission to train after consulting the iryô nin." Ken replied back with a smug smile.
"Very well, I was pretty impressed by you Ken. I have not had such an interesting battle in such a long time. Your battle prowess was exceptional in the spar between us." Hiruzen said with pride in his eyes as he continued,
"You showed considerable creativity when you trapped me with that rubber release before bursting three of your lava clones right in my face. I also tested your deduction abilities in the battle by not using any of my sensory abilities. You noticed that fact and took full advantage of it."
"You have mastered all forms of lava release and are able to use it perfectly. That giant rasengan was something else too. There are not many that could boast of having such a strong destructive jutsu in their repertoire. But be careful using that giant rasengan in a battle since it would take a lot of your chakra to even use it once. In light of all this, I allow you to train for Ice release." As Hiruzen said that, Ken fist pumped in joy.
"Since you are already experienced enough in ninjutsu, You dont need my help in training. But remember to go from bottom to the top. The first goal to learning Ice release is to master its two chakra natures of water and wind. Start with the C and D rank jutsus before moving to B rank jutsus. Building up a foundation is necessary before you go for the top." Hiruzen said to which Ken nodded keeping in mind to follow his grandpa's advice.
"You can go to my personal library and take the jutsus that you think would fit you. Remember not to learn jutsus that you would never use in battle or are somewhat similar in nature." Hiruzen said but before Ken left, he asked a question that made Hiruzen sweat.
"How did you remain unscathed from my giant rasengan grandpa? I am pretty sure that I hit you and I was definitely not in a genjutsu. I also don't think that the one I hit was a shadow clone either. So how did you manage to remain unscathed?"
Hiruzen started sweating 'Damn, I did not think about how I would explain Ken about my sage mode. Shikaku is also looking at me with those Nara clan's suspicious eyes Should I just tell him and Shikaku? No, if i tell Ken about Sage mode, he would ask me to teach him and while I can teach him sage mode, he is both young and inexperienced to learn sage mode. Not to mention, the monkey sage mode is incredibly dangerous to learn. And if I tell Shikaku, he would know that I don't suffer from old age anymore and would start refusing to do my side of paperwork.'
Hiruzen decided to bullshit his way out of this "Oh, I did take some injuries from your attack but I use an earth style jutsu to cover my skin with some earth which managed to reduce the damage by a considerable degree."
Ken felt that his giant rasengan should not have stopped by just some rock armour but there is no way his grandpa would lie to him so he let it go.
"Alright, I will be off then. Ice release .....here I come!!"
