The night confides, the stars bear witness,
To hearts entangled, lost in weakness.

"What!?" Aracely's voice erupted through the cell phone, sharp enough to make Albert wince and pull it slightly from his ear.
"I just heard when your grandfather was discussing it with the others," Albert said quickly, his tone cautious.
Aracely's heart thundered. "And how come my grandfather didn't tell me?"
"Maybe he thought he could handle it before you found out," Albert reasoned. "But I think it's time you came back, Aracely. You should settle this yourself before it gets out of hand."
Her breath came unevenly, the news shaking her core. "I'm on my way home. Straight away."
And with that, she ended the call.
