"I wish I killed him," Horace growled, voice rough and trembling with venom. Rage coiled around him like a living flameâdark, consuming, dangerous. His fists were clenched so tight his claws threatened to pierce through his palms. Even the air in the room seemed to thicken with his fury.
Xavier leaned lazily against the marble wall, but his sharp eyes never left his Alpha. "You know you can't, Horace. If you kill him, you'll destroy her spirit. She still remembers himâthey were friends once."
Horace's jaw flexed. The muscles in his neck tightened as if holding back a storm. "Then I'll make sure she never has any male friends again," he said, voice low and deadly calm. But the fury in his amber eyes was a wildfire barely contained.
"She's quite a beauty, though," Xavier added teasingly, trying to lighten the tension, but instantly regretted it when Horace's aura flared. His golden eyes glowed brighter, feral, warning.
