My hometown, Obinzawa, is a large village settlement in the northwest of Aomori Prefecture.
Although the village is big, all you can see are fields and mountains, with only one road leading in and out. The entire village is surrounded by forests and mountains.
Since I was old enough to remember, I've lived in Obinzawa. I have no complaints about its isolation, and I've never felt there was anything wrong with it.
The villagers have good relationships with each other. When I was a child, everyone treated kids my age as their own, and they took care of each other. To be honest, I really liked the simplicity of Obinzawa's countryside.
To the east of Obinzawa is the Aoyagi household, which has been unoccupied for many years.
The Aoyagi gentleman moved to Tokyo long ago to earn a living and reportedly made a lot of money.
In my memory, for Obinzawa back then, the Aoyagi's old house was definitely considered a mansion.
