It seems that the Trolian outbreak has not affected his attitude towards Calier.
This is also a puzzle that Megan finds incredibly perplexing.
In the past, the reason for Calier's existence was to make up for the insufficient combat power of the Royal City; they were merely substitutes for the Fire Holders.
Rod's attitude is hard to explain, and Megan can only attribute it to his transcendent vision and great wisdom.
