This idea came up in Ming Ge's mind when she decided to sign Ji Tingwan.
The concept of "girl group" is relatively uncommon in the current Chinese entertainment industry.
The best-performing girl group in the country was Sweetheart, which she initially formed with Yu Ruoxun and Jiang Xing'er. It was a sensation back then but eventually faded quickly in the history of China's entertainment scene.
However, before she was reborn, or from now on pushing ten years forward to 2020, the concept of debuting through boy and girl group talent shows became extremely popular, almost universally known.
Major entertainment and film companies created this type of talent show and reaped substantial benefits, making massive profits.
But in Ming Ge's view, compared to the Korean wave, Chinese girl groups lagged far behind.
It's not about targeting the contestants participating in the talent shows, but a difference in the system manipulated by the capital behind the scenes.
