The canvas depicted a sun submerged in water—of course, this was just its imagination. In reality, the pattern on the canvas was quite simple, with a uniform light blue background and a white mass radiating brilliant light, much like the sun reflected in the water at noon.

The only question was whether the artist's perspective was from the water's surface or underwater.

The Black Cat strained to recall the techniques the Witch had previously taught it, trying to use vague and professional vocabulary: "The sunlight is intense, lines are full of tension, but being ancient suggests a lack of imagination, leaving little space for the audience's interpretation... so we should focus more on the actual depiction of the sun in the painting rather than the symbolism derived from it."
